what happened to the Libyans who worked for you? taken out or had to stay?

A lesson supposedly learned from U.S. foreign involvements of the past 20+ years is that dictators with nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction would be wise not to give them up, lest the U.S. come in and kill them. In 2004 (?) Qadhafi agreed to the dismantling of his *real* nuclear weapons program. Do you know if, in the planning for the 2011 humanitarian intervention in Libya, anyone thought that Qadhafi had earned a get-out-of-jail-free card, leading to a safe exile for Qadhafi like the Saudis once gave to Idi Amin? Susan Rice’s book, *Tough Love* gives no hint that anyone was thinking about that.

The US intervention in Libya was the biggest failure of Obama's Foreign Policy.

Anthony Bourdain did a program from Libya in 2013. Really hopeful, revealing the best of Libyan culture (food of course) and certain cosmopolitan people’s appreciation of living in freedom. A shame that it didn’t work out.

@Herb Thomas , it is very sad & makes the pain watching the current proxy war tear our country apart... however, we still have hope that this misery will be in the past & the beautiful, welcoming, and vibrant Libya will re-emerge to the world...

The partition of Libya is not a good idea. It will promote more chaos and violence.
Brian Wolfson
01:34:16
I agree, history has shown us that partitions always lead to more violence (India post-independence, Yugoslavia)
