Rising GHG levels have led to poorer air quality and the elderly are more susceptible to air pollution. There is also a higher risk of high temperature events. What do the candidate plan to do about reducing GHG levels which are currently still increasing.

Another item to think about. The extremely high cost of assisted living for elders with dementia. What happens when the money runs out is a terrible burden for families.

There are currently 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease. Over 460,000 New Yorkers. Both numbers are expected to triple by 2050. What will each candidate do to increase our nation’s investment in Alzheimer’s and dementia research?

What about Medicare for All? It is my understanding that it would pay for itself and be extremely efficient, and cut out the for profit insurance industry (jobs and retraining being created by M4All and the greater need for admin jobs.

The only way that home care agencies (LHCSAs) can continue to exist is if they are adequately compensated through Medicaid; they need to be able pay their workers more, and to do that they need to be reimbursed at a higher rate. Will the candidates support increasing funding for Medicaid?

Long term care through Medicare makes sense; still needs to be funded at a higher rate.

Speaking of caregiving, there are over 11 million Americans serving as a caregiver to someone with Alzheimer’s. That # will keep growing and is projected to reach nearly 13 million by 2050. Please ask the candidates if they will support bill 2517. This bill allows the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) to test a Dementia Care Management Model that provides comprehensive care to Medicare beneficiaries with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. Caregivers need support in accessing services and this bill will help that.
