I can see it.

32:15
Should the CHW be entering their personal contact info and SS# or the contact info and employer ID of their employer?

33:18
chw does have a taxonomy code but we just arent applying it, correct?

33:49
Yes should it be our personal if we are not with an agency

34:00
If people are getting bumped out, try turning off your video to increase bandwidth efficiency.

36:38
does this require caqh like doula?

36:49
you all are doing great

37:13
we have to do it for credentialing

37:29
Who do we reach out to ensure that our EFT has been accepted-I had to submit our via paper, not electronically

37:43

37:49

Sorry if I’m asking a question that has already been answered: does a non-profit agency need to have a licensed health professional on staff to refer people to CHWs in order to bill Medicaid?

47:39
no; it is not necessary to have the licensed professional on staff

48:12
what is necessary is to ensure that there is a record that a licensed practitioner recommended the person get CHW services

48:23
Great presentation! Thank you! Would you be able to email us this PowerPoint presentation? henriettaholder@gmail.com

49:06
Great. Do you have a list of qualifying licensed practitioner types? Like LCSW, LICSW, etc ...

49:32
we can indeed email the presentation out :)

49:58
Thanks, Amy!

50:28
We don't have a specific list of provider types, but basically if the RI Dept of Health licenses the provider type and the person is a healtcare provider, it works

51:01
Please email presentation to me as well. pamelaschlomann@gmail.com. Thx.

51:02
Thank you! This info is super helpful

52:26
I would like the presentation as well please

53:55
once billing is submitted, how long does it take for the the remittance info to be available

54:04
Id like presentation as well please jthigpen@westelmwood.org Thank you

54:55
I would like a presentation as well…..Pilarmccloud@yahoo.com

56:14
If I am already registered as lifestyle coach is the same number or registration I will get as CHW?

56:15
thanks!

56:38
If the CHW's are employed by the agency, why would they be billing separately as an individual?

58:22
This is from Henrietta

01:00:19
I can confirm that enrollment as a CHW is different from any enrollment that a person may have done to be a provider of the Diabetes Prevention Program. RI Medicaid does not to my knowledge have a provider type specific to the Diabetes Prevention Program.

01:01:41
Can you please also send me a copy of the presentation? meaghan.soares@chartercare.org

01:04:30
CHW services are available to Medicaid beneficiaries of any age (kids, adults, etc.)

01:04:43
I would like to have the presentation as well. Pfernandez@tricountyri.org Thank you!

01:05:41
Same Gwhackney@eastprovidenceri.gov

01:06:05
Same elizabeth.m.amaral@gmail.com

01:06:11
Billing is done in 15 minute increments up to how long (max billing) per claim?

01:06:36
Thank you

01:06:50
Thank you Amy, was wondering if we can bill for family as long as all are covered

01:06:58
How long does it take for a rejected claim take to get adjudicated? What are reasons claims get kicked out?

01:07:16
is there a price list to help us determine billing

01:07:17
Replying to "How long does it tak..."Usually billed wrong with the wrong code.

01:08:37
Martha, not sure what you mean by "bill for family"?

01:08:59
define group setting Andrea pls

01:09:22
When is a new patient no longer considered “new” and switches to the reg patient code

01:09:58
not a group but a family of 3 for like a mom and kids or is it just one on one and groups

01:12:03
regarding family...are you able to bill for a parent and child separately, provided that you are providing separate services for each client

01:12:25
Can you speak to standing orders regarding service authorization and then diagnosis code.

01:12:49
Yes it is

01:14:39
Mardia- we have the same questions regarding non-clinical settings standing orders and verification of dx code

01:14:53
you may need to coordinate different services for each client based on there individual plan

01:15:02
What portion of a 15 minute increment can be billed, e.g., I provide services for 48 minutes...

01:16:22
So, 31 minutes would be billed as 2 units?

01:17:11
I'm sorry. 31 minutes would be billed as 3 units? Not to be too picky, but wondering.

01:18:24
23 minutes

01:18:25
Place of service include virtual?

01:18:40
8 minutes into the next increment will be rounded...

01:21:24
re family: if each person in question has been recommended for CHW services and is getting their own separate services, you can bill that separately just as if they weren't family members.

01:22:30
if you have one person getting services, they can receive services in the company of their family and have it count as individual services for that one person

01:22:36
Thanks! that's what we plan on writing in our protocol.

01:22:47
So the claim submission does not say specifically what activity the CHW performed with the client? just the procedure code?

01:23:04
correct Carl

01:23:30
but CHWs are directed to maintain clinical documentation that can be reviewed if needed

01:23:36
thanks - just confirming - seems to be same in other states

01:23:55
thank you :)

01:25:09
Can you clarify the documentation required for group setting services? Are attendance records sufficient or should there be notes as well?

01:25:28
Can this presentation please be emailed to me jbdiaz@westelmwood.org

01:25:52
brief clinical documentation should be maintained for each person for whom the service is billed

01:26:14
as in "Mrs Smith participated in DPP session for two hours" or etc

01:26:55
Thank you so much. Great Job.

01:27:33
Thank you so much very informative

01:27:39
bottella12@gmail.com

01:30:40
coaching a patient during a physician office visit is billable even though the physician is billing for the OV itself

01:36:27
That high of issues you need to have a licensed therapist that may be way out of the scope of a CHW, if you have dx of behavior health you need a licensed practitioner for the safety of the CHWs

01:37:30
How does this work for schools, classroom education re: health topic training? There would be more than 4 students in a classroom. Also, could see CHWs being a great resource for school adjustment counselors, school nurses, etc. re: health education, addressing SDOH?

01:38:54
There should also be a CHW supervisor on site to help manage your CHWS this wouldn't be something managed by a Teacher or Social Worker or Resident Supervisor, they need to have a CHW Supervisor who knows the scope of the CHWs would be my recommendation for all the "out of the box" typical arenas

01:40:38
double billing insurance fraud … you have a grant funded program but have CHWS paid from the grant you cant also bill Medicaid

01:40:44
Along the lines of schools how would this work with non profit orgs who have CHW’s? Those clients see us outside of the reg community meetings

01:42:30
I could see an adjustment counselor benefiting from referring families for CHW services re: SDOH, helping with entitlements.

01:42:57
Nope you did

01:44:12
thank you

01:44:23
Thank you both-this was super helpful!

01:44:40
thank you for all the information

01:45:11
I didn't register and therefore isn't on Sarah's email list. Again, this is Henrietta White-Holder - henriettaholder@gmail.com =

01:45:21
I don’t see the diagnosis codes in the chat

01:45:38
Can you please share your contact information please

01:45:44
Behavioral health issues will not use Z codes and I read that they too are acceptable. I am an LICSW so would be using them.

01:45:51
Thank you, job well done!

01:46:24
Thank you very much a lot of info

01:46:42
