To summarize, you should see a few different controls at the bottom of your screen (depending on which device you’re using):-“Audio Settings” on the far left hand side allows you to adjust the sound on your own device. Please note that Zoom Webinar is a view-only format, so you will only be able to see and hear our panelists today.-For that reason, we encourage you to use the chat box to interact with each other. Please ensure you select “All panelists and attendees” in order for everyone to see your messages, as the default setting will only send your message to us as the hosts. (This is completely fine if you’re having technical difficulties or only want to speak to us for any reason, but if you want to interact with each other, make sure to switch your setting!)
-The last important function that we’ll be using today is the Q&A. Submitting your questions via this specific Q&A box ensures that the questions don’t get lost in the chat, and you’re also able to upvote and comment on questions if you like. So we encourage you to ask lots of questions at any time during the discussion, and make sure to upvote the ones you want answered the most.
Good Day All - Excited to join from Vista Projects Ltd. Engineering Consulting company active in the biofuel projects space. www.vistaprojects.com email@example.com

Good Morning all. Graham Hilton from the BC Government Investment Office in London. In a previous life I contributed to much of the UK/EU bio-fuel policies.
As Dave just said, please ensure you’re using the Q&A box so that we don’t lose your questions in the chat. Remember you can upvote questions in the Q&A box that you want answered the most!
Hello everyone. Zohrab Ahmadi from Econotech Services.
Have you seen or heard of support for the CFS from the Conservatives? I.e. what is the risk that should there be a Spring federal election leading to a Conservative win the CFS would be canceled or greatly postponed?
Hello everyone, Bora Plumptre here, senior analyst at the Pembina Institute, joining from our Toronto office. <firstname.lastname@example.org>
Please note that BEN and BCBN will share the recording of today’s event in our newsletters after the session:Subscribe to BEN newsletter: https://ualberta.us20.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=86cb906fa7534efea1925675a&id=2f0f3e6d9fSubscribe to BCBN newsletter: https://bcbioenergy.ca/
Hello everyone, I currently work at a fuel ethanol facility in W. Canada. I have helped to commission new facilities and optimize others. My name is Koel Reed & my email is email@example.com.
In response to J-C Amado's question about the Conservatives. What I have seen in the past are articles like these: https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/andrew-scheer-promises-to-scrap-liberals-clean-fuel-standard-dubbing-it-a-secret-tax
Here is an interesting paper just released on a carbon price vs a tradable performance standard (e.g. LCFS): https://www.rff.org/publications/working-papers/tradable-performance-standards-transportation-sector/
Thanks hosts & moderator Dave! Doug Hooper, Director of Policy & Regulation, Advanced Biofuels Canada firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for sharing, Prashant and Curtis!
We had so many great questions and we realize we did not get to all of them. We will do our best to get them all answered and shared along with the recording after the event!
Faisal Mirza, City of Vancouver
Woot woot, Mahmood in the house!
Great presentation Mahmood; look forward to working with you again. Gordon from NLK
Great presentation Mahmood, informative statistical data! Thanks
Anna Ringsred Beavers
Can you comment on feedstock availability for the fuel production projects that have been proposed in North America? Will there be enough feedstock to supply all of the proposed facilities and to achieve the required low carbon fuel targets?
As Michael had mentioned earlier, please make sure you’re asking your questions throughout the discussion using the Q&A box located next to the chat. This helps ensure that your questions don’t get lost in the chat, and you’re also able to upvote and comment on questions you want answered the most!
Question for Jason Krips: when will the AFPA promote a government policy to recognize the use of forest slash as qualifying for Alberta carbon offsets?
Large oil and gas producers are utilizing animal fats in biofuels. Viscosity causing gumming and oxidation reduce the blending walls. How big are these issues in feedstocks.
Jared Girman from West Coast Reduction here...our infrastructure is under threat from the Port of Vancouver who is forcing us to leave out site. Please visit https://www.sustainablefoodalliancebc.com/sustainable-agriculture-or-more-cargo-containers to learn more.
With regard to the CFS, I think provinces should pay close attention to the Land Use and Biodiversity (LUB) criteria that has been proposed for agricultural and forestry feedstocks to be use for biofuel production under the CFS
Thank you so much for all the excellent questions! We wish we had time to answer them all. We have copied all the unanswered questions and will do our best to share the answers along with the recording after the event!
Thank you to everyone!! Great questions Michael. I will answer this last Q as continuing to bring honesty <-- the desire to be competitive without heavy subsidy.
Breaking news - Ontario has extended its RFS to require 15% renewable content in gasoline by 2030, with a 50% CI reduction.
Great Join Meeting. Look forward to building a better Canadian vision for sustainable BioEnergy and new projects.
Wow, thanks for sharing Doug
Faisal Mirza, City of Vancouver
