I'm hoping to learn how to be a more active part of my daughter's school programs even if she doesn't join a club. Here's a link to one of my bio's. https://cdhs.colorado.gov/about-cdhs/featured-initiatives/family-voice-council#:~:text=Contact%20Family%20Voice%20Council%20coordinator,%40state.co.us.

Garret Savage DAC Foothill

Where did you do the dinner?
Lisa Steffen
37:06
Lots of key ideas here - 1) leveraging your well connected members for recruitment 2) get informal feedback as well as utilizing "formal" structures 3) break bread! 4) make community relationships
Ralph Frid,
38:19
What are the ways that you are able to engage parents of Spec Ed, or ELL students... we seem to have the plenty of representation of the gifted and talented.
Garret Savage DAC Foothill

Is the overall deadline for all UIPs October 15th?
Lisa Steffen
42:50
yes, unless they are eligible for biennial flexibility (e.g., performance plans)
Ralph Frid,
43:38
the challenge here is that some of our more needy students have parents that do not have much discretionary time and resources. Its hard to provide access to these parents.
Angela Lindquist
48:37
As a former special education teacher (including early intervention), I really feel that parents with special education students might need support with child care. That is a tough one to choose- leaving your child at home to try and go to a dinner… and I know that personal invitations with specific information for how you can take of their child/ren during the time they would be more likely to attend.
Jennifer Archuleta
48:50
I apologize, but need to go. See you next month!
