Yes Thanks so much to you Stacy! We will miss you for sure!
thanks for your service Stacy
wouldn't it be appropriate for the citizens to have a comment section before the board addresses new business ?
shouldn’t you appoint the next highhest vote getter?
I agree with Shannon's remark
Is she willing to serve
Aileen Katcher/Dan Surface
I agree that it should go to Zach Baldwin. who the voters have the next highest votes.
Thank you for your trust.
Agreed Aileen and Shannon!
Anyone who doesn't understand that opposition to the Overlay facilitates commercial development is simply not paying attention.
Then the overlay should apply to all properties.
So all of Oak Hill should be in the overlay Shannon?
If, as Mr. Cobb says, its the only defense against commercial.
Agreed Cal. Having your property in the overlay is no big deal. As stated previously my property has always been in the overlay - it backs up directly to Radnor. I was able to do a complete remodel/addition to my house and add a pool with absolutely no problem.
Please keep comments to 3 minutes thank-you
Good points Mike! I agree
Glad to hear that clarification that public comments have not been cut back…thank you.
Why only block commercial for this handful of properties? Why not cover all if preventing commercial is the reasoning?
please leave the ordinance as it stands!
Can Dan Surface/Aileen Katcher please mute
The restrictions are actually less prohibitive than the steep slope lot restrictions…and most of these lots are already steep slope lots.
Yes Collyn! you are right.
I got a letter in the mail in advance about this overlay.
It’s actually less height restriction than steep slope...
if those lots are already restricted by steep slop, why do we need this overlay?
questions can be answered without putting this up for reconsideration.
Or, it could be explained, supported, and THEN put it place
I asked questions when I got the letter. it made sense.
I did too. And got none.
This ordinance has been in affect for years. What has changed is the foot print of the park. Over the years, the park land has expanded. Therefore, the need to protect the parkland has expanded. The same logic that existed at the time that the original ordinance was passed remains. If a property is immediately adjacent to the park land, than it is subject to the overlay.
What was that logic?
thank you Cal. well said.
if building activity would adversely effect the park land, than additional cautions to prevent those effects should be taken.
In case anyone want to read the existing longstanding ordinances, they are right here. The municipal code is updated by the University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service every 2-3 years. Please contact the City Office if you have questions regarding current regulations or click this link https://www.mtas.tennessee.edu/code/municipal-code-oak-hillSections 14-138 and 14-139
Why doesn’t Mayor Grimes already have answers to these questions? He’s not new, and this issue has been around for months.
Good question Carole!
because I am the only one on the call that read the code book before the call today.
How do they not know that the City Engineer needs to be there to discuss why properties were chosen versus FORL?!
Yes, thank you Jef - Zach D needs to be there and included...
The new commissioners and the neighbors that weren’t notified like you were have the right to have the issue discussed in a public forum.
everything is available on www.google.com
suggest the Board research the history of the ordinance; when it was originally passed, the meeting minutes from the first and second reading, what the rational was at the time, etc.
could you advise all the different ways in which you will communicate the time/date details of the hearing?
Adrienne - Did I say they didn’t have a right to discuss in a public forum? I did not…I was just stunned they were so uninformed that they didn’t even mention the City Engineer...
AND there are properties owned by FORL
Thank you for making this effort to inform us.
that are considered part of the natural area.
Collyn, you seem to think everyone is should know as much as you do about this issue. The past administration obviously didn’t inform impacted citizens. I agree, all OH staff should be present at EVERY SINGLE meeting of the city. Would sure cut down on miscommunication, or lack thereof, from the city.
That makes sense.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the Commissioners, especially Dale who has been involved all along to know who chose the properties designated for the overlay…
Good point Tim - I think that’s a great idea.
I for one am glad that we have people who are willing to volunteer their time to help out with a social media page that is not run by the city.
The official City page is run by the city employees. The unofficial group is run by a citizen - It became unaffiliated from the City in an official capacity during the last election.
No it’s not Collyn, it’s run by you via former mayor campbell
What?! Former Mayor Campbell is not even a member of the group, and she never ran the official City Page…I’m confused…
No one believes that for a second Collyn
Believes what? That Heidi controls the Residents group? This is silly conspiracy theorizing - I know you dislike the group, but really?!
Oak Hill Official Facebook Page for reference.https://www.facebook.com/CityOfOakHill
Adrienne surely you know there are two separate FB pages: City of Oak Hill, TN which is the official one and Residents of the City of Oak Hill.
Nothing the says “Official Oak Hill” should be run by a private citizen that only “posts when told to by the city manager.” Official should be straight from the city office and not from your home computer.
Yes Liz, I’m not an idiot.
There is nothing on the Residents Group that states it is the “official page” please stop making things up….
