Full steam ahead!
We've cut staff by 40% so just trying to renew what we have instead of go after new donations
We're about to launch a new fundraising campaign to help us with COVID-adapted program delivery.
Very passive at the moment. Hit and miss based on engagement and focused effort, changes annually.
We have stopped fundraising completely and don’t know how to get back in the game as we need it
So much is uncertain, that we need to identify what the "ask" even is at this point.
Also it is easier for us to apply for grants as they are a re a known quantity in these days of COVID
We have large campaign in place to raise considerable funds by Dec 31
There is SO much need and we hesitate to ask for more from a small community that is always VERY generous but now many here are struggling financially through pandemic
We have been passive as of late due to Pandemic. However, we are working towards a new initiative for early 2021.
We have never done formal fund-raising before. This year, we received a massive ($9 million) donation to establish a protected waterfront nature reserve on Bowen Island. Now we are contemplating formal fund-raising to build a fund for ongoing operations of these lands. We have to pay for insurance, signs, trail development and upkeep, and so on. We also want to acquire additional lands to protect
Our BOD needs to meet before year end to plot our course for fundraising
Cancelled all our events, fundraising has been on hold because our small town seems tapped out financially at the moment
Very interesting Owen, what a great cause!
Dianne Evans, Heritage Playhouse. We asked for donations from the community and that has resulted in a generous gift of shares from a local donor - we established an account to enable us to receive shares - we will focus on this on our website to encourage people to use a donation to reduce their tax - we have also received a bequest, something else we'll feature on our website.
And then we (the charity) sells them? (asking the embarrassing question from someone who knows nothing about stocks)
Forgive my ignorance; if a charity then sells securities (in any amount) are the realized funds then non-taxable?
I also wear hat of a director for Whistler’s The Point Artist-Run Centre BOD. Arts and cultural workers are in need and we plan to raise funds on a crowd sourcing platform. We will employ artists and pay for art by offering the work as incentives to varying levels of donations. Our goal is to split funds 50-50 between local artists and The Point
I just watched that video yesterday
BC Amateur Sport Fund, for the sport groups
Thank you for the sport link!
Thank you for the reminder about how important it is to maintain connections to donors! A newsletter will be high on Families Fighting Cancer’s list of ‘to do’ items before year end. You have also mentioned a few key points to mention in that newsletter. Very helpful.
NoNot heard of it
You will remind us of all the books/resources you are showing yes?
Wendy L. Francis
We have received from benevity
Is there any APP supporting giving?
Are there community crowd funding platforms out there?
Thank you for a fire hose of useful information :)
Enlightened and inspired. Thank you.

Feeling inspired, thank you!
thank you - very valuable session!
Great information - Thankyou
A lot of info, but definitely a huge help in getting us started on a fresh track for fundraising.
Thank you for your time, great information.
Thanks so much - lots of information to digest but feeling have some good starting places!
Fantastic session! Thank-you!
Totally inspiring and re-energizing, plus a bit overwhelming.
As a charity, should we have a financial advisor who works with our donors, or is that more of a conflict of interest?
Can you talk a little bit more about board motivation. Thanks
Thank you Paul and Wendy! Super inspired.
Thank you for this marvellous session - very timely, informative, and yes, overwhelming!
Love Vantage Point!
Thank you so much Paul. This has been perhaps the most engaging and informative webinar that I've participated in this year! I'm looking forward to digging into the resources.
