13:18
Hi from Snow City Arts in Chicago!

13:51
Hi @Carrie!

13:55
Hello from Carilion Clinic in Southwest Virginia

14:26
yes. Let's do it!

15:45
Hello from MD Anderson Children’s Art Project in Houston!

15:55
Hello from University of Vermont medical center in Burlington, VT!

16:26
At MD Anderson, most of the public areas are closed at this time, so our art spaces are unavailable.

17:42
I am still able to work bedside, but all interactions must be one on one. All events, volunteers, and gatherings larger than 5 people are prohibited at this time

20:36
A gentle reminder to folks to mute their phones or laptops if you can while you’re not speaking. It helps the sound quality for all of us.

20:55
Welcome to everyone. So great to be with you!

22:10
hello from OSF Healthcare in Peoria

23:18
hello from Univ of Rochester (NY)

23:34
Hi Gaelen!

26:20
Hi Everyone, Claire de Boer, if you call me I have an idea to propose.

26:39
Hello eveyone! Hello from the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center

26:53
Hi! I’m a practicing cancer physician and president of our classical guitar society here in Milwaukee. I’m hoping to help develop an arts program at my hospital. If I can provide a perspective that might help, I would be happy to do so.

29:09
I have taken my cancer survivors creative writing workshop online using a private group on Facebook. So far so good.

29:20
Gina that is a great idea

30:01
Is a private facebook group HIPAA-friendly?

30:36
Here's the link: https://voicesofedenlive.com/vhmc/

32:30
Hi this is Tamara Wellons, the Program Manager for Smith Center for the Healing the Arts at Inova Schar Cancer Institute. It is great to see everyone here. Thanks Eliana for the link.

32:49
@Eliana - beautiful site. This is great!

32:54
Please see how it resonates...appreciate your sharing with others. It

33:10
A webinar that happened on Monday for artists: https://howlround.com/happenings/panel-artists-time-global-pandemic-asl-captioned?fbclid=IwAR1wR0NdsejAeaaMtmWDa3cthFYqzmvbNRLsRiArw26_pnS17Hq2-Y2goGI

34:49
It's wordless, so there is no language barrier. We can adapt it for NOAH use - and we could add it as a NOAH activity - this could give lots of exposure for NOAH...my gut says that organizations - professional - who need their employees healthy - can be a source of revenue for NOAH and artists.

36:47
@Constanza that is such good news. Kudos to your organization.

37:46
Artwork Archive is producing resources for individual artists who are impacted by loss of wages (to Kris Ward’s point), cancellations of events and workshops, etc. We have a few articles hosted on our blog: https://www.artworkarchive.com/blog — including relief funds, digital tools, etc. We will also host a webinar in the next week for artists about ways to continue their practice and business virtually. I can share once we have the details locked down!

37:59
Hi Carol, I’m down the street at MD Anderson working in pedi

38:07
In New York State - the DOH said it was relaxing HIPAA for electronic/ teleheath needs - so people can connect via Facebook messenger, etc if needed.

39:00
Aly, thank you for sharing that. the HIPAA issue is something I am just starting to grapple with as I think through how we might offer online content here

39:02
ksmarsh, I use a method that presumes fiction. I hadn’t thought about HIPPA. It’s a great question though.

41:25
I’m Emmy from Snow City Arts in Chicago. One of the things that has reduced anxiety for us at this time is that we have a standard operating procedure of paying artists on an hourly basis for their time devoted to the process of teaching art and music, not per project, per student, or per piece of art created. Because of this, we have been able to transition smoothly to work-from-home operations so that artists like myself can develop new projects, including virtual or digital projects, and engage in archiving, research and development without losing income.

42:22
Thanks Aly that is good to know

44:57
Could you please list the contents of the Five-Senses bags again? Great idea for staff.

45:00
My attention is on caregivers. How can we support them? I've been taking art into units for nurses for stress relief. Concerns about infection control.... input anybody?

46:37
Saundra- I agree with you that I'm really interested in supporting our caregivers during this time. We are looking on e-options right now (as it is so difficult to get into the hospital units).

47:08
As I think about the newsletter idea you just shared Augusta, I wonder if we can utilize traditional media, like newspaper, to help share out the products of the arts tha tare beign created as a way to stem the isolation?

47:26
As a physician, I can tell you there is high anxiety among physicians across the nation. There are also many other staff in hospitals beyond nurses and physicians that are put at high risk each day caring for patients.

47:44
@Shaunda - this is the healthy aging website: https://spiro100.com. Great resource for caregivers.

48:05
Re: Caregivers - I would try to see if there is someone who is heading any official response - our system has identified a staff emotional/physchological response lead to help facilitate debriefing sessions for groups and individuals

48:13
Eva, yes… like housekeeping, facilities, and in our cases many employees are being “redeployed” to other areas

48:18
tmhstk -I'm the chaplain, so it's easy for me to access staff. Can you collaborate with your spiritual care team?

49:12
Oh good idea Saundra!

49:16
Gaelen, Definitely possible. Although, I wonder if direct access with the Tele Nurse Monitor would put it in their hand.

49:27
Are any of you still working in facilities (not from home at this point)?

49:35
Such great ideas!

50:05
I am still working in the hospital, yes, but not directly involved in clinical care. I work with residents.

50:11
@kmarsh We are alternating on site and telecommuting right now.

50:18
Association of Academic Museums & Galleries has an open Google excel spreadsheet in which institutions are sharing their situations and what they are doing. We could create one for NOAH members—a place to gather our collective efforts.

50:23
same here

50:26
Augusta, good point. I think my mind was going out to the community outside the hospital. I am so concerned about the larger community with self-isolation leading to depression/othering/etc

51:26
Absolutely. The anxiety will continue to embed itself throughout communities. How can we as artists/facilitators/helpers mitigate that?

52:39
Gaelen, Public messaging is hard in the rural areas.

52:51
I am still full time onsite, but access to patients is limited. This is stressful because it’s difficult to know how to move forward.

53:12
Another target audience is families. For example, I’m at high risk of exposure, and I have two children at home. My current plan for childcare is to have my elderly mother watch them, which puts her at high risk. It’s such precarious situation. And I’m sure this affects patient families, and other hospital staff families...

54:11
Noah could help all the children who have had school canceled.

55:05
I am happy to help with that.

55:11
NOAH could create a resource list for artist personal/professional development.

56:35
NOAH: Can the resource created be public-view so that we can share it with those who are not arts in health professionals?

57:08
Does that fall within the regional committee purview?

57:15
I would suggest, a hashtag to use if we are using social media.

57:36
@august great idea

57:47
Or could we create a sub-Facebook Group dedicated to each region?

57:59
Great idea @augusta

58:27
Yes. A shared hashtag would be awesome. This is a large group - what ideas do you have?

59:06
I’ve started #NOAHCreativeResponse which can be one, #CreativeResponse

59:24
I think trying to raise the profile of different programs/projects - on PBS the other night they highlighted how people were singing on the balconies in Italy and other ways people were connecting using the arts during the crisis - it owuld be so nice to have that connected with NOAH/the field as a whole

59:25
Awesome!

59:28
there are a lot of people making material online - outside of artists in health, Jill Sonke of Shands at UF has said the word “delighter”

59:34
how about a virtual gallery that people in isolation can contribute to

01:00:15
connection is key

01:00:33
Agreed @Eliana. This is a real opportunity to further the cause of Arts in Health

01:00:37
Gina that would be amazing

01:01:33
@scottstoner great idea!! good way to share best practices

01:01:40
#artsinhealth #delighters

01:02:02
Also, we can host a telesummit - and interview different art organizers...

01:02:16
Can NOAH create a specific facebook page that the public can access for these activities, updates, and links to videos?

01:02:31
I'd like to suggest a similar to the 6pm Italian singing/ music making from balconies that we consider hosting a local 6pm short video each day. This could be coordinated via signup sheet, but the hosting - not sure - facebook live? as already suggested, it feature a different modality each day, and become a recorded resource.

01:02:36
From our existing page, creating regional groups may be the best bet for that.

01:02:39
Also, maybe an official one-pager that we can share with hospital leadership with citations and stats about how the arts can help in times of crisis. That the arts are not something that should be dropped during this time- but can be utilized for both public messaging and staff wellness.

01:02:41
Thank you Saundra

01:02:41
@kmarsh majorly great idea!

01:02:57
And yes, Gaelen - that's an awesome thought!

01:03:36
I wonder if any representative or senator could get some money for this type of work inserted into their stimulus bill. A role for NOAH and its members could be advocacy.

01:03:58
@aly That would be super helpful!!

01:04:34
@emmy of snow arts chicago can you give a fee/cost/pay that works for your organization to set a precedent for artists to produce work?

01:04:38
Yes, a one sheet and lobbying to be included in the stimulus would be great.

01:05:00
sign up to contribute:https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/volunteer-interest

01:05:40
Hi, Carrie from Snow City Arts. I think one of our largest barriers to working remotely is the complication of HIPAA. I noted there was an easing of enforcement for Telehealth communication. NOAH could put out a position advocating for that easing to be extended to those of us in Arts in Health.

01:05:40
What is the status of credentialing the profession?

01:05:58
Would a survey of need/mutual aid be beneficial?

01:06:09
national Academy of Medicine has a virtual gallery for physician resilience

01:06:17
I would be cautious on fundraising as some donors we have been staying in touch with our donors just for relationship purposes and they have shared with us their upset with people asking for money so soon until some dust has settled. Also the market is volatile

01:06:17
we might partner with them

01:06:35
Yes Joyce I agree wholeheartedly.

01:07:09
Thank you Chi!

01:07:14
@Sara Brown: yes please - let’s say what we need and what we can do. Mutual aid is a great way to proceed

01:07:16
As members, we need your input! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/member-survey-march-2020

01:07:22
Good word @chi.

01:07:33
You are a graceful soul, Chi, thank you.

01:07:41
Chi thank you!

01:07:41
Thanks Chi

01:07:42
Thanks Chi!! Such an important reminder!

01:08:04
💗🏩💗Thanks Chi

01:08:05
YASSSS!!!

01:08:14
great note to end on!

01:08:18
Said it! <3

01:08:23
THANK YOU!

01:08:24
funny how a loss of liberty has reminded everyone how much we need each other. take care & stay well!

01:08:28
Yes! Thank you all so much!

01:08:31
Thank you!

01:08:34

01:08:39
Thank you NOAH!

01:08:41
Thank you Claire!!

01:08:43
thank you very much every week would be good

01:08:46
Thank you

01:08:52
Claire… I totally missed the time on this meeting

01:09:06
Was it recorded and can I hear what was said?

01:09:14
Can I just gently suggest we are careful with videos and tutorials? We don’t want to make it look to easy and put ourselves out of what work we have as volunteers and independents.

01:09:15
grateful for this meeting!

01:09:15
Claire & Danielle - I'll wait a moment

01:09:28
well stated, Stephanie.

01:09:56
Claire and Danielle thanks SO much. And thanks to all who showed up. Thanks for making this chat available immediately so we can reach out to one another.

01:10:11
I’m also an art teacher. I see this happening and it’s real. We need credentialling
