I am sorry I forgot to read Dr Rafat Jan’s bio. So I am posting it here. More than 3 decades passed, she has been working with Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery. She trained as a nurse midwife and worked as a midwife educator, researcher and trainer. She is a professor and working towards the advocacy of women and neonates’ rights at all levels from community to the government level. She believes every woman has right to give respectful birth and access to a midwife for normal birth. She served at various leadership role such as director of the first undergraduate midwifery program, President of Pakistan Midwifery Association, and a board member of the International Confederation of Midwives. She established and running an Indexed Journal of Asian Midwives (JAM) with the dedicated team of national and international experts. She is reviewer and advisor of the high impact journal titled “Midwifery”.

Dr Ashish KC – Dr KC is currently researcher at Uppsala University, Sweden and a perinatal epidemiologist with doctoral degree in neonatology. He has wide experience in global health research and programs with an emphasis on evidence generation to improve health care for women and children. Dr KC has previously worked as technical advisor to Save the Children, Population Services International and UNICEF for more than 15 years. He has also led several hospital- based randomized clinical and two large scale multi-centered quality improvement trials in Nepal. He is a principal investigator for EN-SMILING, a multi-country study for improving measurement of child development in routine health services.
