Is 24-hour support available to those persons who participate in shared living?

Linus GREAT question! In our Day and Employment Services has been about 15% in the past three years. As Self-Directed Supports vary from person-to-person can't provide a specific number. The pandemic has changed things but never the dedication of essential supports who feel valued and are paired with participants that have similar interests as themselves.

Jane - Yes Shared living is a 24 hour service. Depending on a persons needs and abilities they can spend time alone.. or not.

Shared living is similar to 24 hour support although in a setting with an individual or family interested in sharing their life and home

What percent of the individuals you support are competitively employed?

What is the percentage of individuals who are competitively employed at each of the agencies?

Of those in Day and Employment Services: 35% successfully employed, 85% engaged in some employment pathway (including all age groups).

How do you work with a student who has already had multiple community based work experiences, Discovery, etc. when enrolled in school?

For a referral to be made to an agency, does the ISP need to completed before hand ?

Perspectives is using transformation funds for career pathing for our direct support workforce. We are piloting credentialing DSPs and providing bonuses/increased pay as an incentive.

Please stress when referring that valuable school information (like work trials and assessments other than an IEP) are included as it gives the youth and their family control, while adult providers the insight on how to craft a good fit.

FEAT (Family Employment Awareness Training) from the Sherlock Center is also a valuable resource to tap into to get perspective of families (just like you) who have valid concerns and questions for such a critical time for their loved ones.

If a student has chosen a provider before a student graduates, I would highly suggest the provider be invited and attend any IEP or transition meetings.

My son is non-verbal with very limited signing maybe 3 commands but understands both English and Spanish, what adult services can be avail to him?
