I completed almost 39 years and was recently released, the parole culture and the DOCCS culture is a culture of retrobution. They need to receive training to allow them to see all people as part of humanity.

James Gandia, Theodore Howard, and John MacKenzie all lost hope for being released. They found their release in the greatest despair at the end of a bed sheet. Why does this take place? Long Island N.Y.

People released from prison are great experts on what “reentry” services should look like - and many contribute to creating those services.
Judith Clark

Thank you Sen. Brisport for your voice and your support.
Laura whitehorn
01:00:55
From my years in prison I would say that the combination of offering hope and listening to incarcerated people, seeing who we are, listening to our voices, is what makes this movement and the legislators’s support so powerful.
Legacie Legacie
01:00:59
Stop all the red tape for parolees when they come home and only wear the stigma of being an encarcerated person instead of rehabilitated!!! We are former and current people who have made a mistake: done our time & only want to do more positive in our lives; not be labled as a negative

As a recently released person I note that hostility of DSS in distributing emergency food stamps. I have also noted that DOCCS sends us out with a temporary ID that does not have our address, without proving our address we cant open a bank account. Why can't DOCCS the "state of NY" issue us a non drivers identification that bears our approved address on it. We are confronted by continuous red tape and individuals that are indifferent at best and hostile at times. Identification as a matter of law to open a bank account should be sent out with us
