Is there any data on how many cases of breakthrough covid have occurred to patients who are fully vaccinated? Also were those positives analyzed to see if they were caused by a variant?

Shout out to Dr. Talbot and Dr. Chan for always taking the time to be here for us, providing updates, answering our questions and providing us direction...this has not been easy for any of us but with such support we can at least proceed with some level of knowledge and a fair amount of confidence. Thank you!!

Can you explain the different positivity rates posted on the NH website for Merrimack County?
Michael Palmieri
27:24
Can we comingle our residents now from one program to the next? Such as from AL to IL as they miss each other. All are vaccinated! TY!!!!!!
Nathan Ramsdell
28:11
@Purington CMS states to utilize positivity rates that are posted on Monday to set the testing frequency for the following week. While we are able to see the rates fluctuate throughout the week, such as Merrimack being at 4% today, the testing frequency is based off what is published on the NH dashboard on Monday

We have a previously positive resident (1/12/21 positive) currently in the hospital and retested positive. Do we need to report this as a new Positive (as it is more than 90 days) or can we consider this a prolonged positive person?

If someone tests positive, after full vaccination, is the UK variant being tested for?
Lani Theroux Greenbriar Nashua NH
46:32
In our facility, people don't want to "get sick" from the vaccine if they have the possibility of asymptomatic disease. Others still believe the vaccine is "experimental" regardless of the data.

mistrust in vaccine: still have heard of concerns regarding fertility with any of the vaccines as a reason for not getting the vaccine

Re vaccine hesitancy: I have reminded folks that the vaccine is very successful in it's goal of the vaccine of preventing severe illness by giving you antibodies. Vaccination cannot prevent COVID virus from actually entering your eyes/nose/mouth if you get a cough to the face. The only thing that can prevent that is eye protection, mask, and social distancing. In doing individual investigations I find this has helped to re-center folks on the overwhelming benefits of vaccination versus risk.
