Very interesting and thought provoking presentation. Well done Linda

01:18:35
Interesting discussion.....

01:18:44
There really are so many opportunities in South Africa - thanks for a great overview, Linda. The question is: what are the barriers to unlocking the opportunities?

01:20:14
Will you be sharing the recording/presentation slides?

01:20:27
indeed the market is huge while startup funding is unavailable even from government.

01:20:36
Yes, we will make the slides available

01:22:28
How do you help small businesses

01:26:17
Reminder to please pop any questions you have for speakers in the Q&A. We'll address your questions either directly online, or through the Q&A after each presentation or in the end discussion session

01:34:49
Thank you Maria, great presentation!

01:35:25
Very exciting presentation. Thank you Maria

01:35:25
The best waste, is the waste that is NOT created. How much focus does the Circular Economy place on Waste prevention.

01:37:53
I agree, Charlaine. Sometimes the circularity guides seem to be protecting plastic and how to keep it in circulation - mopping up instead of switching off the tap.

01:39:40
I have started giving households orange bags to sort and separate their waste in our area we couldnt believe the waste we got from the pilot we have done there was no waste to be taken to landfill

01:40:23
Great initiative!

01:42:06
I have just checked out the footprints Africa website, where you spoke about the case studies Maria - amazing resources and maps on that website! https://www.footprintsafrica.co/

01:47:50
Dionne, you have spoken my mind and I think we are on the same page.Refurbishment must be the focus instead of recycling.thanks dear.

01:48:05

From Berry-Morakile Well Done Colleagues, highly appreciated.

02:02:37
The rental model makes a lot of sense especially for items which we dont need all the time, or only need from time to time, e.g. tools, baby clothes etc.

02:10:20
WOW!! what more can I say - amazing creation.

02:11:38
Beautiful and inspiring!

02:12:49

02:27:18

02:42:22

02:42:27
Martijn sometimes when your using multiple screens it shows the wrong screen in present mode.

02:42:58
You can have a look at our website. We have a list of tools https://www.fermedubec.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2017/11/Juin-2017-Les-outils-de-la-Ferme-du-Bec-Hellouin-.pdf But it does not include the land price which will depend according to the countries. In France, you could imagine that the land and tools would be 100 000 Euros (without housing).

02:47:46
Wow, this is brilliant, Martijn. The social impact is fantastic. Do we have something like this in Africa?

02:50:14
Thanks for doing a job in Ghana and other African countries.SNEW GHANA says thank you.

02:55:45
Interesting to hear the work you're doing in the e-waste space in Ghana. Is there a way to connect with the team in Ghana?

02:55:48
Give second life to equipment and don't rush them to recycling.Refurbishment is the way to go.

02:56:51
Are the manufacturers of the original products involved in this cheme? What's their position?

02:57:31
'Excellent presentations by all presenters. Thank you for sharing your unique experiences. This was indeed an enriching experience.

02:58:14
If today's recording and presentations are available, here is my email address faith@rasun.co.za

02:58:19
The content has been extremely rich - how do we get some of this content beyond research, development and innovation into the public space, so that people can take some of these ideas into their own spaces?

02:59:11
Thank you Linda and the team :) - this refreshing approach and focus is needed in South Africa, as the default is still to revert back to the incorrect "mainly recycling" understanding of the Circular Economy - Will definitely share the presentations further!

02:59:16
excellent presentations, thank you all for sharing

02:59:57
