Welcome everyone! We will get started in just a few minutes.
Aaron Firestone
44:30
Will the bathrooms be monitored by a staff member? How will you make sure only the allowed number of kids enters?
Jehanne Hale
46:07
There is also a gender-neutral bathroom, beside the faculty room.
parent
47:36
How anyone can say this isn’t damaging for a child’s emotional well being is beyond me.
George McCann
49:36
The present circumstance is unbearable. This proposal… however well-considered, feels like it comes up short. I know there are MANY factors to consider. It sounds like prison.
parent
50:33
George I totally agree.
Allie McCann
50:49
Will they be required to use school supplied hand sanitizer? What are the mask rules?
Danielle
51:37
Will masks be provided? Young kids masks get wet quickly
Darina Drapkin
51:38
It doesn’t have to be. I taught at an in person music camp last summer, and you would be surprised at how good the kids were at accepting and following rules, without letting affect their enjoyment of each other.
Emily Zeinal
51:38
What are the mask rules for kinder?
Kerry Ingram
52:24
Thanks for explaining everything and for the all of the school alterations for play.
George McCann
52:51
I really hope that once the children get moving into this path they are able to feel these connections with one another.
Darina Drapkin
53:03
They will!
Bob and Sheina Curtis
53:17
I wonder if it might be helpful to survey parents before mid may to find out how things are going?

Tanessa Daw
54:27
If we want to wait to do in person until we (the parents) receive the vaccine, will we be able to change from distance only when ever that happens? or will we need to choose one and wait until next year to change?
Jehanne Hale
55:10
The students will just be happy to be together. Hopefully, this joy will inspire us to figure all this out.
Linda Gibboney
56:21
my kids are so happy even if they know there are separate rules for now. we’re coming together! it’s worth a try!
Alice Hervey
56:21
Is it true that Siblings will be assigned to be in person on the same day as each other?
George McCann
56:35
Tanessa: I hope so!
Willa May
57:11
how do we know what group we are in?
Allie McCann
58:34
It’s not the same group we were sent in August?
Aaron Firestone
59:41
Thank you
parent
01:01:00
There is no science. That’s crap. Show us the science the district gave you.
Molly Kirkconnell
01:01:30
If the number of students on campus ends up being low (because some elect to remain in distance learning), and also if our county's case rates continue to decline, what plans have you made for returning to a fuller schedule of in-person learning, i.e., 4-5 days a week, and with a fuller school day?
George McCann
01:01:33
When will the mask mandate go away? Next year? Ever?
Esther Allison
01:01:33
who is parent?
Corby Kearns
01:02:13
A poker of people.
George McCann
01:02:33
Molly, great question.
George McCann
01:02:56
I was going to say parent is our id.
Darina Drapkin
01:03:11
Temperatures should not be taken by pointing the thermometer at their head. That is dangerous for pineal gland development. However, the inner crook of the elbow is a more accurate location for temperature anyway. Hopefully that helps those who are worried at getting that “gun” pointed at your child’s head.
Juliann Rhodes
01:03:49
Can you tell us what percentage of the staff will be vaccinated on the first day of school?
Aaron Smith
01:03:53
Youth sports have been given the go ahead, has Mr. T gotten any info on the Sunridge teams getting started?
Angel Edwards
01:03:58
I concur Darina, Thank you for saying that.
Becky Arnett
01:04:07
Darina, thankyou for that.
Darina Drapkin
01:04:32
Experience matters!
Becky Arnett
01:05:04
Can Kalen address if the temperatures could be taken at the elbow ?
Darina Drapkin
01:05:31
I would like to see that as the go-to spot of being taken
Esther Allison
01:08:17
thanks for th answers
Willa May
01:10:13
why would teachers need to maintain distance if vaccinated and wearing a mask
Piper & Tom
01:10:43
disagree that the feeling is "wide spread"
Becky Arnett
01:11:19
If my child goes back hybrid but is not happy due to the new restrictions, can we step back to complete distance learning until next year ? i think the answer is yes but just double checking.
Darina Drapkin
01:11:21
You can still contract and pass Covid with the vaccine. It lessens the effect of the disease, so hospitalization will be unlikely. It might show up as a bad flu.
Aaron Smith
01:11:26
Yeah, I think the kids want to be back on campus even with limitations
Doug Haigh
01:11:57
The kids will be happy to follow a few rules to see their friends and teachers
Angel Edwards
01:12:10
Its So Needed!!!
Juliann Rhodes
01:12:54
We agree
Shelly Hughes
01:15:13
Will children that are in a pod outside of school be aloud to be closer during school?
George McCann
01:15:28
There seems to be a spectrum… some folks not nearly ready to have their children in school, some parents really seeing that their children will benefit with social connection, no matter the barriers of distance and masking…and some folks feeling like where we have arrived doesn’t really meet their present aspirations.
Tucker
01:15:31
agreed. someone comparing this situation to prison needs to maybe educate themselves as to what prison is really like. this will not be ideal, but it is better than being on zoom forever.
Angel Edwards
01:16:19
Agreed tucker
Sara Bird
01:17:17
Do we wait in our cars for the children to go through the temperature check before we leave?
Moana Meadow
01:17:55
I think that comment was about masks
Mariah Smith
01:18:06
I don't think that needs a response
Aaron Firestone
01:18:07
Why are we spending time on this?
Becky Arnett
01:18:39
agree
Bob and Sheina Curtis
01:18:47
It would be nice if people had their names for comments.
Angel Edwards
01:18:52
Do we have to waste time on opinions? Or can we just please focus the point of this TH?
Esther Allison
01:18:56
even siblings inside of school are not allowed contact, rules require that they stay 6 ft apart even if they are part of a pod....
Esther Allison
01:19:27
but maybe there is a more official answer to your question...
Tanessa Daw
01:19:35
It wouldn’t be fair to everyone if some kids got to be closer.
rose_morris
01:20:45
Thanks for being inclusive and getting to all questions! Thank you for this q and a!!!!
Alice Hervey
01:20:49
Siblings go on same day/are in same group?
Angel Edwards
01:21:20
Yes thanks to Kalen
Bob and Sheina Curtis
01:21:35
Becky, I believe that is correct - that in-person students can shift to Distance Learning - and was stated at the Charter Council meeting this week.
Becky Arnett
01:21:45
thankyou
Angel Edwards
01:22:12
Yes Earlier is BETTER
Angel Edwards
01:22:49
Thank you
Willa May
01:22:53

Darina Drapkin
01:24:24
Yeah the parents and children to be prepared for an elbow check! Please
Darina Drapkin
01:24:37
Teach, not yeah
rose_morris
01:27:03
My girl does that. It takes a lot of communication ahead of time. Breathers are great! Its hard with a lot of kids. I love taking masks off at the ears. Seems much cleaner.
Angel Edwards
01:27:45
WHat
Danielle
01:27:58
Can we still walk to school or do we need to drop off in car?
Angel Edwards
01:28:38
We definitely need it earlier if its taking longer!! We have to work
Molly’s iPhone
01:28:56
Agree with Emily... a ‘catch your breath’ spot would be great for the asthmatic kids!
Allie McCann
01:28:58
What will the role of that person be in the 6th grade?
Bob and Sheina Curtis
01:31:32
Danielle, I think at the Charter Council meeting it was stated that walkers/bikers can get their temp taken at the front of the school and enter the school from there. It will be in the Covid Safety Plan that will go on the school website
Danielle
01:32:38
Thank you
Bob and Sheina Curtis
01:33:14
Thank you, Kalen.
