If a student wants to do Warren Tech, do they enroll through Enroll Jeffco?

49:59
@Katherine, yes they will enroll through Enroll Jeffco

53:59
Marna, is there a way for parents not here tonight to view your info?

55:19
All of tonights slides will be posted on the JAGC site along with the recording of tonight’s session.

55:46
Yes. The website I showed at the end to Jeffco has the key information. The shared slides will help as well.

01:01:16
Honors, AP, and IB classes are “weighted classes” in Jeffco. This means they appear differently on the student transcript. An “A:"A “B” in an AP/IB class is weighted the same and an “A” in a non-AP/IB class.

01:02:18
The end of that should read: An A is worth 5 points in a weighted class, a B is worth 4 points, so a “B” in an Honors/AP/IB class is weighted the same as an “A” in another course.

Don’t forget Jeffco’s GT Family Learning Night (we are now VIRTUAL) on January 26th from 6-8pm. https://www.jeffcopublicschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=627965&pageId=16598235

01:16:27
Question from a parent: how much AP should I take?

01:21:10
Remember that Jeffco now allows middle school students to get high school credit for world languages and math.

01:22:08
Does the high school credit only apply for 8th graders, or 7th graders too? (My daughter is taking algebra in 7th.)

01:22:56
Thank you!

01:23:06
Does JVA give high school credits?

01:24:42
Thanks

01:25:30
Can you please list the differences between concurrent enrollment and dual enrollment?

01:28:18
Thank you for all of this information! With all of these considerations, can you speak a little bit to how we should even begin to decide on a high school (especially for gifted kids)?

01:30:05
For kids that may need a little time to be ready for college, is it better to apply and defer, take a gap year completely, take classes at community college? Any insight would be helpful

01:32:24
What do Jeffco schools do when a kid maxes out the highest level of a subject that that their high school offers, well before graduation?

01:34:04
This usually happens in math. We would offer additional opportunities when this happens.

01:35:23
Thank you.
