Oklahoma schools have taken on the lion share of the contact tracing burden. We stay in constant communication with local/county health departments. The result is school nurses and administrators who spend large portions of their work day contact tracing and notifying parents, but the health department does not have the capacity to handle all contact tracing.

Thanks for valuable information. NAESP appreciates your important work in this critically important area.
Our school based infection rates for employees tends to mirror the community infection rates whereas our student infection rate has been significantly less. It is the adults getting sick and/or exposed that has caused us to have to temporarily been virtual / remote vs. in person learning.
Public schools generally follow the rules and CDC guidance
We are having the same issue. The challenge is the lack of adults who can substitute for staff when they are sick.

Same issue in Central Illinois... while we all agree kids are better off in schools and spread among them is minimal, we MUST have adults to hold school. The age range for adult is 22-78 and many have underlying conditions. It's all so difficult - from absolutely EVERY angle. Every day we all just make the next best decision.
