If we want to annotate it prompts to create a hypothesis account. What is that?
Michelle Pilati
01:33:48
Buzz - It is a tool for doing just that - annotating. We can ask him to speak to that. We’ve explored it somewhat.
Shanthi Tharuvai
01:33:56
Do students need a libretexts account to be able to access the book when I share URL of the book with them that I would like to use as is?
Michelle Pilati
01:34:15
No. You can just give them the link.
Shanthi Tharuvai
01:34:45
Thanks Michelle!
Gisela Spieler-Persad
01:34:53
If my campus already has a hub, can I use that?
Michelle Pilati
01:35:03
That means you can give your students access to the text before they are even in your class. You can provide that URL to the bookstore, for example - instead of just saying “I’m using OER".
Edward Tostado
01:35:35
I was able to log in earlier but now it will not let me in.
Shanthi Tharuvai
01:35:46
Got it Michelle!
L. Jeanette Green
01:36:35
how do i request a hub?
L. Jeanette Green
01:39:32
his email is cut off. is it libretext.org?
Alan Keys
01:40:02
To clarify, to copy any book into our existing campus hub, we need to request this.
Buzz Piersol
01:40:14
delmar@libretexts.org
Michelle Pilati
01:40:18
@libretexts.org - don’t forget the S.
Linda Vang
01:40:44
Did Delmar go over the steps to copy a book?
Michelle Pilati
01:40:55
Alan - Yes. But I suspect that they will look to create a more formal process.
Alan Keys
01:41:08
Got it.
Michelle Pilati
01:41:27
Linda - Do you mean to move a whole book to your campus hub? Making it YOUR book - without having done anything to it?
Linda Vang
01:41:41
Yes
Shirley Thomas
01:43:02
Sorry, I logged in late. Are there books for nursing?
Shirley Thomas
01:43:17
or healthcare.
Mark Trezza
01:43:58
Hi Linda...FCC would need a campus hub first...I don't see one. But, I don't think it was covered..
Michelle Pilati
01:44:11
@Shirley - Glad you made it! I believe you will find that in the medicine library.
Linda Vang
01:44:30
Good point; I wondered if we had a hub or not. We will need one eventually, then. Thanks, Mark.
JoEllen Green
01:45:07
how did you get to Google Analytics again?
Gisela Spieler-Persad
01:45:09
If I’m not interested in tracking, do students still have to sign in?
sally potter
01:45:31
FCC will get a hub, don't worry :)
JACK YANG
01:46:06
Awesome! FCC representation! =D
Sylvie H-Schultze
01:46:08
How can we also require our students to sign in?
JoEllen Green
01:46:14
we have one for Fresno city
Linda Vang
01:46:35
How do you copy the book though?
Sylvie H-Schultze
01:46:41
@Green Why can't we see it when we log in?
Sylvie H-Schultze
01:47:12
@JoEllen Why can't we see it when we log in?
JoEllen Green
01:47:16
Delmar copied the text to Fresno City Hub
Cristina Moon
01:47:31
If you are not making any chances what is the benefit of putting it on the campus hub?
sally potter
01:48:06
Branding?
delmar@libretexts.org
01:48:16
yep
Paul Seeburger
01:48:45
Gisela, when not using tracking (or integrated graded homework), students do NOT need to login to read your book.
Linda Vang
01:48:52
So, branding takes place in your campus bookshelf not in your Sandbox?
Mark Trezza
01:49:09
If a college has a hub, does that hub appear in all Libraries of that college?
Sylvie H-Schultze
01:49:17
Break?
Edward Tostado
01:49:58
I have account issues. Is there a generic login?
Armeda Reitzel
01:50:18
I really appreciate the questions that are helping us through this process. Armeda Reitzel
L. Jeanette Green
01:50:39
so i’m in medicine libretexts. did he say we need to be in chemistry or exactly the book he’s in?
Paul Seeburger
01:50:57
Cristina, having your book in your hub allows your book to be clearly labeled for your course and college. It also sets you up to easily customize the content of the book as you may choose to.
Michelle Pilati
01:51:01
@Edward - see the bottom of the page in the PPT.
