can we still write in to give our voice to opposing the FCCs or is it too late to comment?
Britta Eschete (Board of Directors, Skagit Food Co-op)

We'll make sure to address this during the conversation Q/A. Thank you!

Will you be discussing HB 1099 - (The GMA Climate Bill) and how it would impact FCC's in the state?
Britta Eschete (Board of Directors, Skagit Food Co-op)
01:10:10
Noted this question -thank you!
Peter Moon
01:11:12
I'd be interested in hearing the most compelling arguments in favor of FCCs. How does this make sense to its advocates?
Linda Summers (she / her)
01:11:20
Can non-citizen Skagit residents sign the petitions?
James Macrae
01:11:59
I have heard that there are one of these project approved near bow hill. It that true?
Bruce
01:12:31
Where does Property Taxes of the homeowners in the FCC go?
Charles Ivory
01:12:51
Is it accurate that once FCC regulation would be approved by the Commissioners that any builder wanting to create an FCC and meeting the requirements of the regulation would be able to move forward regardless of objections by citizens, even the Commissioners?
Carolyn Gastellum
01:13:16
Margery - Please talk about SB 5042 which is currently in the state senate Rules Committee. District 10 Senator Ron Muzzall is on that committee. People can contact him asking him to pass the bill out of the Rules Committee.

You can get the petition off the right growth right place website. Print it in Landscape orientation, and invite your friends to sign.

01:15:22
If time, can you address the resolutions at the city government level about FCCs? La Conner, Sedro Woolley, Mount Vernon, etc.
Charles Ivory
01:16:01
Would an FCC, until it is annexed to an existing municipality, by "run" by the County Commissioners? Would the FCC residents then be beholding to the decision making of the Commissioners, and essentially become a political base of the Commissioners?
Richard Brocksmith
01:16:01
Senate Bill 5042 is the bill in the Senate Rules Committee that would close the loophole that Margery referenced. Contact Senators in the Rules Committee in support of that bill
Mary Hudson
01:16:09
affordable housing is different to everyone, could we start calling it workforce housing?
Sarah Pedersen
01:16:24
The Sedro-Woolley and La Conner City Councils have approved resolutions against FCCs and Mt. Vernon will consider a resolution Wednesday. Anacortes plans to take it up as well. Write your City Council if they put it on their agendas.
Larry Hilliard
01:17:29
Thank you, Mary Hudson. Yes, workforce housing.
Kirby
01:17:36
I own property in Skagit and Snohomish counties. Old folks like me remember looking East from I-5 while in near Marysville and seeing nothing but pasture land and small, private farms. It is now Home after Home after Home. No commercial corners, churches or parks. MAJOR traffic issues. There is not enough PROFIT in rural land.
Kirby
01:17:42
Sad.

01:18:34
Can our urban areas be able to handle the predicted population growth
Charles Ivory
01:18:38
How would an FCC access public education for their children? Would they pay tuition to local school districts? What if local school districts do not have space for the children? Who would pay for new schools that are needed and under whose jurisdiction would these schools be?
Peter Moon
01:19:48
Future conversation: How might we build more affordable market rate housing? What would it take to build healthier communities?
Phoebe Barnard | Stable Planet Alliance
01:23:25
I appreciate these questions, and second Peter Moon's ideas. Thanks Peter. Thanks Margery and all for this session.

Did King county and Snohomish co. Ban FCCs?
joan Cross
01:24:18
Where can we sign a potion?
Kirby
01:24:54
Do you feel that "affordable housing" is better suited to being in towns- closer to resources. Walk to dentist/grocery store/etc.?
jerrysm
01:24:57
Rural land should be valued and find a way to maintain our farms.
Sarah Pedersen
01:25:10

We do need to have community discussions about proactive preparedness for climate in-migration - better to be prepared (and welcoming and able to absorb, socially and environmentally) than caught unawares and reactive. A number of us are working in this field and this would be a good topic for a SVFC session in late 2022 !
