Rory, I’m engaging with a medium sized law firm on d&i. I’m not certain that they will be moved by justice. I hope they will be moved by the business case. I agree with you re: pressure and the moral centre. But, you know law firms….. How can I be influential? How do I engage persuasively?
I think you have to get to a WHY reason with the managing partner that is personal, almost selfish. To get them to buy into D&I on its own won’t get you very far.
It makes it inclusive without pressure to have to assume the identity. Nice!

This is for anyone on the panel. I work on d&i with smaller private companies. Is the approach different for large publicly held corporations than for smaller privately held companies?

In the way were asking for others to be open-minded we too should be open and patient with those who are allies and perhaps (on -the-fence).400 years is a long time so we've been patient but at the same time we wouldn't be here without our allies we have to be mindful of that!
