PPAChicago Diversity and Inclusion Webinar - Shared screen with speaker view
Welcome! Any questions you would like to ask the panelists please ask them in this chat and we will have the Panelists answer them at the end. Thank you
I want to sit in on Brian's classes!
So sorry ya'all was having connections issues...So happy to hear these discussions happening
You can find me on LinkedIn- Johanna Gottlieb and my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
I like diversity goals...but I also think all companies in our industry should be having conversations about inherent bias and privilege
I heard Sandy, Johanna, Val and Ben....ALL these points should be spread across our industry....so important
I saw a sign at a rally I attended recently that really stuck with me, "White privilege is not knowing there is a problem because it does not impact you personally" I have spent hours thinking about that sign and how it applies to us and our industry
Question for the Attendees: Would you like to have a webinar quarterly as it pertains to Diversity and Inclusion?
Be the change we want to see -- thank you Sandy
Our industry is built on entrepreneurs and small companies. Traditionally the LatinX and Black communities ARE entrepreneurial so it is puzzling and frustrating that there is not more diversity within the promo world. One can become a distributor with virtually no capital other than credit and, as has been mentioned, access. I am encouraged by the ideas presented and actual steps that many companies are taking and love hearing the personal stories shared here. Looking at ways that I can be part of progress. I also love seeing the faces of my friends I miss!!
there are little things you can do also...like including your preferred pronouns in your email signature or if your business is women and or minority owned...tells everyone you email important pieces of who you are and shows your willingness to have important discussions
I don't sound jewish on the phone...relatable!!
virtual hugs Sandy...seeing the impact of racism in this way is good for everyone to see...thank you for being vulnerable
Thank you for making it personal, and real, Sandy.
I had a very similar feeling when watching Schindler's List
this was AWESOME
This was incredible. Thanks to all who pulled it together and especially the panelists.
