Any thoughts on how to do safe transport from campus to hikes? Cars are a really small room. Even masked, viral loading seems to be a concern.
Amy Thoren

I have that question too.

It’s hard to know how to make a first credible contact, with all our ordinary avenues closed and/or delayed.

Is anyone else struggling with board expectations for in-person versus online? Or, balancing anxiety of board members for the ministry?
Tedd Cogar
46:49
For us (NWPA Synod, LCM@IUP) it has been something we are working on building relationships with SWPA Synod, shared youth events, connections through the Youth Gathering, and our own Synod Youth events. And a lot of word of mouth from our students and their youth connections

I love Kara Powell's "4 + 1" ministry (the "1" being that first year out)

Lamont Wells you have a great virtual background (I've seen before) that is the LuMin logo-- can you share that with us, so we can do as Bre described and advertise LuMin at all our synod zoom meetings?
Lamont Wells (He, Him, His)
53:15
@Lori Ruge-Jones It's on the LuMin website... I pull it off often. with the logo

Exactly. It is the side conversations (while I am preaching - lol), the talks while doing dishes or eating together that build deeper trust and form relationships of primary support. Getting new people rapidly integrated into the ministry is going to be hard without all the informal hang out time.
Lori Ruge-Jones
58:37
Rachel YB right-- informal hang out time!
Jim Holthus
58:57
I loved "The Tipping Point" and loaned it out and never got it back.....
Lamont Wells (He, Him, His)
01:00:55
lol @Jim I know the feeling...
Jerry Wirtley
01:01:18
And how do you build the relationships without the informal hangout time??
Michael Jannett
01:05:53
Looks like Jim Holthus has a question...

I came on a little late, didn’t get that comment. Repost?

For those of who came on late, can it be posted again?
Jerry Wirtley
01:06:51
Lamont can you email it to us?

With students arriving here on Aug 1 and classes start Aug 10, I find that focus and planning are a lot easier this week because the unknown is becoming known. Hybrid everything with hikes, outdoor firepit, Zoom worship and picnic lunches are the plan. Some face to face stuff to enhance the virtual activities.

Anyone else organizing/training for nonviolent resistance and alternatives to fascism?
Mark Coulter (he,him, his)
01:14:21
Thanks to Jaime and the LuMin arranging this.

Darin--are you using a particular curriculum or developing something on your own?

Tedd—the sermon on the mount is a good start.

Not joking.

I agree. I was just curious if you were creating or using something already created.
