Is there a way to raise humans from infancy so they stay lucid and don't get conditioned to believe in a separate solid self, and so that they wouldn't have to unlearn habitual contraction?

Thanks Andrew!

Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness - Khenpo Tsultrim Rinpoche

In Tibetan tradition, they start study at age five, but don’t start meditation training until age 8.

Waldorf Schools are aimed to educate children non-violently and spiritually.

We might believe in the deities that helps us reach a different place a more flexible imaginative place. I think it is good for their imaginations to give them stories. myth is important for children I feel. nursery rhymes have inheritance truth like “who killed cock Robin” a wonderful story about death.
Joseph Parent
46:54
Judith, I agree. Think about all that Joseph Campbell says about mythology.
Charlesly J
47:32
Story is entertaining and we are a story telling species. Buddhism and other spiritual traditions have been transmitted by stories / suttas / epistles / parables. But maybe we over do it. My kids learned that rabbits don’t lay eggs and the gig was up. Once the raft of the story has served its usefulness it doesn’t make sense to continue to carry it around.
Judith Adams
47:44
Waldorf schools are amazing all three of my kids were education in waldorfs schools worth looking into.
A Krowiak
48:02

Many of the mantras and practices (eg. maha mudra) implore protection. Could you riff on intentions for protection possibly related to fear? Thank you. note: construction here too loud for online.

I definitely go through periods of being a “nightstand” Buddhist. 😀
Sarah C. Whitehead
01:05:23
Didn’t VCTR say that if without study, you have stupid meditators and without meditation you have smart ass holes?
Judith Adams
01:07:14
I like that!
Chantal Scerri
01:09:11
That's a great question Wendy!
Joseph Parent
01:09:57
Kagyu master Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thaye sang:The one who meditates without the view Is like a blind man wandering the plains. There is no reference point for where the true path is. The one who does not meditate, but merely holds the view Is like a rich man tethered by stinginess. He is unable to bring appropriate fruition to himself and others.Joining the view and meditation is the holy tradition.

What do you mean by “mindfulness” when it can be said that it doesn’t lead to liberation in one sense , but that it is our “natural state” in another sense?
J HL
01:19:38
Protectors are for “what is”.
Joseph Parent
01:21:01
Ralph, that may be the difference between the ‘state’ of mindfulness vs. the ‘practice’ of mindfulness.
