Leah K.
13:10
yes!
Leah K.
15:17
woah!
Ben
15:19
this poem sounds like its talking about a different translation, it sounds a little bit different, so probably an earlier translation (or that could just because it a dramatization of the translation)
Jack
16:59
Odysseus returns and no one treats him well but argos recognizes him
jason
17:00
"interesting"
spinoza
17:02
Ulysses his only recognized by his old dog, who dies after he sees him.
Tristan
17:03
This is when Argos met Odysseus
Leah K.
17:14
That was unexpected! So, apparently it's like an alternate ending to the Odyssey where Odysseus dies at the end. He gets home, but no one recognizes him, and he doesn't reveale his identity to anyone.
Patrick
17:18
Animals always seem to have this sixth sense, I've seen it in other stories, it's pretty cool. Very sad poem. Rest in peace argos.
Ben
17:19
i accidently deleted sorry
Lucas The One and Only
17:34
all people left him, only his dog knew him.
jason
17:35
argos meets odysseys after a long time
jordan
17:38
Argos is seeing Odysseus for the first time and possibly that was all he wanted to see before he let himself die? And the poems rhyming is really beautiful
Nathan
17:49
when Odysseus met argos
lauren
18:12
The author must’ve really liked dogs because this is longer than that was mentioned in the book about his dog
Maya
18:41
Mournful
Leah K.
19:00
Hold on, I just realized something - it was Argos that died
Ben
19:00
lauren i think it was the same length but this was just 100x more dramatic
Leah K.
19:03
Not Oddyseus
Maya
20:34
It's kind of like when Odysseus returned to Ithaca only Argos recognized him. And Argos was in a terrible condition, definitely mistreated by the suitors.
Jack
21:14
does the author not like the letter E? i know he doe use it but the only letter removed is the letter E
Patrick
22:20
perhaps it's an accent or a way the author's culture taught him to speak
Leah K.
24:24
Perhaps the removal of the E's is done to make the words fit into the rhythm of the poem
Leah K.
25:25
could we put the definitions in the chat, or just remember them?
Leah K.
25:32
*should
Maya
25:57
'd = ed
Leah K.
26:07
and some of the words that others underlined I think I can help define
Jack
26:39
even=ev’n so it is not just “ed”
Maya
27:07
I know
Maya
27:27
I was talking about the underline of a word in the last line of the poem.
