I feel one of the challenges is most funding opportunities only offer start up funds. It is difficult to find funds then to sustain programming. It would be helpful if more long term funding opportunities were available. Programming takes time to implement because of the multiple partnerships required.

Currently we have an issue with being able to afford additional staff, therefore staff members would have to travel and provide many different services to spread out locations. A common theme we hear is there is too much work and they waste their time driving to rural areas.
Joan Scanlon
39:59
I agree

It's also difficult to hire a new employee not knowing what the future holds whether those funds will be available after 2 or 3 years. Training involved, partnerships built and then not be able to continue the program is not ideal.
Charlotte Centonze
43:59
Charlotte Centonze, thank you totally agree.

I am having a hard time getting my catholic school to participate in PAYS. They are checking with the diocese to see if they can use a passive consent. Is anyone having this issue? Any tips on getting private schools on board?
