Andrew

Dan Stevenson
13:47
It’s worth it to do the online training just to hear the amazing music video at the end. It’s really a great video. Gail maybe you can provide the link to the video before it is over.
susanlavelle
13:49
need more volume
clk121
13:53
We can't hear it.
Louise Johnson

Debbie Windisch
15:57
volume is fading out
Daisy Allen
16:01
The audio is a bit garbled
susanlavelle
16:05
hard to hear
Beatriz
16:15
you may want to repeat what you said on the video. It's very choppy
Tiffany W
16:20
its' just very low & garbled - background noise
Yvette Hardin
16:22
no
Shauna Gunderson
16:23
frozen
Karl Larsen
16:24
The information is repeated later in the powerpoint
Will Schmitt
16:33
We are only getting your audio from your speakers. There is an option to "share computer audio" when sharing your screen
Tiffany W
16:38
cute hats, though!
Julianne (she/they)
16:43
Thank you Will!
Dan Stevenson
16:48
No, it’s probably pulling too much “bandwidth” with 100 people already sharing the zoom meeting
Laura W Norvig
16:51
everyone can just log in to the online version and go see it it's great!
Debbie Windisch
16:54
Loved the hats! I want the crabby one.
998 971 916
17:03
If you all would MUTE your sound there won't be any feedback! MUTE!
Tiffany W
17:14
I Logged in online but it said I had "no courses listed" - couldn't do it
Andrew
17:51
gif you couldn’t access the training then you need to call the elections office during office ehours
Dan Stevenson
18:08
Is voter info. hotline for the voter or is it a second # for the poll worker to use?
clk121
19:20
It is for voters who have questions such as "Where can I go to vote" You will want to use 454-3081.
Laura W Norvig
19:33
what is a cradle point
Gary Williamson
20:20
Cradle Point is the router
Mathilda Stauss
23:08
If we have to leave this training are we able to complete it online?
Colin O'Rourke
23:41
Yes, you can complete this training online
Mathilda Stauss
23:48
thank you!
clk121
23:53
Yes, it is being recorded and it will be available at votescount.us
Tiffany W
26:47
What are observers? Just random people?
Marian Malatesta
27:32
yes. but often observing on behalf of a party or organization.
clk121
27:42
People who want to observe a voting location. They are usually affiliated with a group. They may watch but not interfere.
Tiffany W
27:55
ok, thx. I hope there's more info about that later
Harikrishna Kuttivelil
28:53
I've gotten emails about training and where to report, but I haven't had a lead reach out to me yet. Should I expect contact sometime this week?
John C. Bruckman
29:08
I am logged in but cannot hear.
clk121
29:17
Yes, if not by Wednesday, email me.
Gary Williamson
30:29
When will we/can we get the larger binder?
Dan Stevenson
30:53
I don’t have an option to raise hand or put in Q&A on my control panel so I will have to enter all of my questions here or just unmute at the right time and chime in verbally.
clk121
30:56
@john Buckman, I am sorry that I don't know how to help you. Is your audio on? I know mine doesn't work without the headseat.
Tiffany W
31:35
Do we have assignments yet or is that decided the day of?
John C. Bruckman
31:50
Yes audio is on. I am on a iMac computer.
clk121
32:13
It will be decided day of. We are hoping you will be able to rotate and not do just one thing.
Tiffany W
32:21
Good. :)
Karl Larsen
32:33
If you have an older version of Zoom on your mac, you will need to un-install and re-install the new version to get audio working
Tamara Devlin
32:50
Is there an onsite technician for printer issues?
clk121
33:13
You will have a rover and use the hotline. 454-3081
Laura W Norvig
33:24
OK I missed what the Dymo printers are for
Sarah Kudela
33:54
They print labels, so I presume it’s for the envelope, with voter name/address
clk121
33:54
Dymo printers are for printing labels for ballots that go in an envelope.
carol presley
34:01
will there be staff from the clerk's office available at each location to ensure that folks know what to do?
Tricia Webber
34:08
Dymo printers are to print labels for to go, provisional and/or same day envelopes
Tricia Webber
34:21
yes, there will be county staff at all locations
carol presley
36:22
How is the external drop box accessed/emptied?
Tiffany W
37:30
This is all info for Leads so far, right? Not clerks?
Kelly Wachs
37:42
just leads so far
clk121
38:48
It's a general overview for everyone.
Julianne (she/they)
38:55
Tablets are for folks voting who need accomodations?
Tricia Webber
39:46
At the end of each night the external drop box is opened and emptied. There is a log form that is filled out by at least two people, and then the envelopes and log form are returned in the blue zipper bag(s). Then the box is readied for the next day. It is locked and sealed. There is a slot in it for people to deposit their ballots and the outside box is on wheels for mobility to the cars and to the building.
clk121
39:50
Tablets are offered to every voter.
Louise Johnson
40:20
do the facilities have kitchen facilities for the workers to use?
Marian Malatesta
41:17
will there be two laptops for check in and two for same day/provistional?
Tricia Webber
41:19
The Tablet has audio, has the ability to be used with accessibility devices, has the ability to have large print, and has a Spanish ballot
Tricia Webber
42:09
yes. each check-in station has a laptop and each provisional/same day station has a laptop.
Julianne (she/they)
43:14
@Marian, yes. two for check in and two for same day/provisional.
Andrew
44:12
it would be nice if there was a separate training simply for people who have been a poll worker before, which jus contained the differences with covid
eileenclark-nagaoka
44:12
If we are Spanish-speaking, how do we let y’all know?
Tiffany W
44:56
Probably just tell your Lead when you get to the site each day
Tricia Webber
45:16
You will indicate on your badge what language(s) you speak and then on the language board the languages spoken in the location are written.
clk121
45:39
@ Andrew, there are many more changes other then the COVID. Everyone needs to hear it all.
Mary Anne James
45:51
If we are one of the 50 people “on call” via waiting list how would we know if you need us?
Tamara Devlin
46:17
What type of PPE equipment are you providing, masks and shields? If not, can we provide our own?
Tiffany W
46:49
So there's no electronic voting except for offered tablet use?
Sarah Kudela
47:52
Saw the VoteMobile at La Posada, it was so wonderful!
Laura W Norvig
53:02
so this is a database of every voter in the whole state ... more likelihood of multiple people with the same name
Tiffany W
53:58
probably just the County , not state
Daisy Allen
54:00
Database of Santa Cruz County registered voters
clk121
54:25
Yes, just Santa Cruz County.
Tricia Webber
55:22
We will be providing masks, shields, gloves, sneeze guards and cleaning supplies. You are welcome to use ours or bring your own.
Tiffany W
56:16
There are fewer than 200 first-time voters? yikes.
Pete Torrecillas
56:19
Where do the completed green sheets go at the end of the night?
Tricia Webber
56:55
I am not sure what your are meaning by "electronic voting". All ballots are paper. The Tablet allows a voter to mark the ballot on the screen, but then it votes out a paper ballot for the voter to review and then deposit in the ballot box.
clk121
57:02
Green sheet will go into envelope #3 with your other paperwork.
clk121
57:48
There are more first time votes, just less then 200 who did not provide an ID number or the last four of their social security number so they could be identified as a real person.
Tiffany W
58:36
oh, ok, I misunderstood that! I HOPE more than two hundred 18-22 year olds are voting! PLus, other first time registered :)
Tiffany W
01:06:37
There are going to be checklists available for each of these stations, right?
clk121
01:07:02
Yes. Step by step instruction for each station are being provided.
clk121
01:09:17
Leads go in person training on all of the devices and stations.
Sarah Troy - she/her
01:14:17
I saw someone ask (but didn't see an answer, sorry if I missed it): If we are one of the 50 people “on call” via waiting list how would we know if you need us?
Harikrishna Kuttivelil
01:14:33
I may have missed this, my email says VC clerk, is that voter check-in clerk?
clk121
01:14:34
We will send you an email with your assignment.
Sarah Troy - she/her
01:14:42
got it, thanks!
clk121
01:14:59
VC is Vote Center. Everyone is a clerk except for the leads.
Laura W Norvig
01:15:02
for pink or yellow envelopes, if they choose tablet, does that go inside the envelopes after it's printed?
Harikrishna Kuttivelil
01:15:11
thanks!
clk121
01:15:27
Yes, the ballot will go inside the same day or provisional envelope.
Laura W Norvig
01:15:43
thx!
Karl Larsen
01:17:19
Are dogs allowed in the polling locations/.
Karl Larsen
01:17:22
?
eileenclark-nagaoka
01:18:00
Can we have a copy of these slides to review?
clk121
01:18:08
Only trained service dogs.
clk121
01:19:26
Every lead will have a full copy of this in the voting location binder. We will also have a link to this recording available on votescount.us
Diane scofield
01:22:58
Hours of operation for volunteers, Sat Sun & Mon? I know Tues is 6am to 10pm.
Louise Johnson
01:23:16
I think it will be a good idea to remind our workers about the TIME CHANGE that happens on Nov. 1
clk121
01:23:44
Saturday and Sunday will be open 9am to 5pm. Monday is open 8am to 5pm. Please arrive half hour before opening each day.
Yvette Hardin
01:24:15
thank you Veronica!
Alejandra Kramer
01:24:19
Thank you Veronica
Debbie Windisch
01:24:47
Gail, will we have a clipboard?
timote
01:24:56
Thank you Veronica
Tammy Canavan
01:24:57
Veronica is a rock star - her video is excellent. Thank you.
clk121
01:25:24
Thank you Veronica!
Tricia Webber
01:27:43
Yes, there will be clipboards at the voting locations.
Tiffany W
01:29:01
Would you need to take someone's ballot for curbside voting, or wouldn't you bring the mobile ballot box over to them?
clk121
01:30:10
You can take it inside a secrecy sleeve.
Karl Larsen
01:30:36
So are the public observers allowed anywhere inside as long as they aren’t in the way of voting activities?
Tricia Webber
01:31:22
The outside ballot box is for ballots in envelopes. Ballots without envelopes need to be deposited in the black ballot box inside the location. You will have the ballot in a secrecy envelope and will take it inside the location for the voter.
Anie Thompson
01:31:39
<3 thank you gail
John Morrison
01:33:53
Appropriate dress?
Anie Thompson
01:34:09
If restrooms aren't publically available, do we still send them to the restroom?
eileenclark-nagaoka
01:34:56
Will official observers have anything identifying them?
clk121
01:35:45
Observers can be any member of the public.
clk121
01:36:17
Restrooms will not be locked. They will have a sign posted that tells them to check with management for access.
Anie Thompson
01:36:36
Great, thank you
eileenclark-nagaoka
01:37:31
But don’t the observers that are allowed inside have to be registered?
Anie Thompson
01:39:29
no sexy election clerks ;)
Marian Malatesta
01:41:15
if someone says they never got their ballot but it shows that it has been received, is there a way of canceling the mailed one and accepting the voted in person one?
susanlavelle
01:41:26
Do they have to sign in? the observers
Laura W Norvig
01:42:23
and where would observer stand to keep six feet? we just look around and pick a spot?
Sophie - Fairgrounds Co-Lead Watsonville
01:43:07
can you mention voters with cameras trying to take pictures. I came across pics taken at Farmers market poling location
clk121
01:43:39
Once a ballot is cast, by mail or in person it can not be taken back or changed. If they insist on voting they will vote provisionally.
Tricia Webber
01:44:31
When checking in a voter, it will show if the voter has already returned a ballot. If you are issuing a replacement ballot (either to go or in person), it will void the previous ones issued.
trish daniels
01:46:46
We close the on sat - Monday even if people are still in line?
John Morrison
01:47:52
Thought I heard we stay open for those in line.
clk121
01:48:14
I will ask Gail to clarify.
John Morrison
01:48:15
That might have been a recommendation, not a rule.
Tricia Webber
01:48:16
No, you would place a person in line to indicate who was in line at 5pm and then have all those vote. A person who arrives after you have already started your closing process is the one you would either help if possible or ask to come back the next day.
John Morrison
01:48:29
Ah.
trish daniels
01:48:38
Got it. Thank you
Louise Johnson
01:50:26
who keeps the keys at the end of each day?
clk121
01:50:39
The leads will be the keepers of the keys.
Anie Thompson
01:54:22
