01:18:14
Digital Exclusion and Isolation is my concern. With more and more government and commerce on the Internet, where websites and apps are are not designed to be accessible, people with disabilities are EXCLUDED. Digital Inequity is crossing the Digital Divide and finding that you cannot participate in the Digital Society!

01:18:43
Great to see so many folks from Africa!

01:20:49
The first big barrier I see is that a lot of underserved communities fear the unknown and don’t think technology is for them. The first part is helping them see they can leverage technology and their voices are needed in the space

01:20:54
how do we access the report please.... urgent

01:21:04
Would love to Civil Society orgs also more connected to the Internet Community Orgs like ISOC, ICANN, AfriNIC, LACNIC, RIPE NCC, APNIC, and ARIN (IP addressing orgs), IETF, and the Network operator Groups (NOGs) for synergies, training, and network building (human and tech)

hello i am philemon Viyama IT officer with Gender Equality Peace and Development Centre (GEPaDC)

01:23:20
My concern is mainly for women, youth and PWDs in rural communities in developing countries. I do belief to close this exclusion gap not only in my country but other countries with similar context is to strengthen collaboration. Strengthening collaboration, I mean big organizations in developed countries should think about collaborating with local organizations that are making some snail moves to close the exclusion gaps. I think this is exactly what Frank and Rachel are speaking about.

Michelle Matthews from Viridian in Cape Town, South Africa. We capacitate entrepreneur support organisations through Launch League - they find themselves teaching basic digital literacy to aspiring entrepreneurs (When funders and government have fantasies about business owners "participating in the digital economy"!) We have a very far way to go!

01:37:40
Just as the statistics of the poll can tell 52% of the participants in this Zoom meeting are from Africa, this tells a story of how much this information is needed in Africa... How are you going to use the content of this report to improve Access to Digital Technology and internet to Africa?

01:37:47
@Omar Lots of great being done by Civil Society and Internet community to build community networks. See the report above that Calum mentions and you will see some great case-studies. Ping us as well and we can help with more info where ISOC, APC, and others are helping build community-based networks (muni nets) and more

01:38:22
+ 1 and infinity Christopher~!

In Africa, weed to be supported

01:40:13
I bought my home on a cell phone at the beginning of the CV-19 pandemonia. Someone asked my how I liked the phone APP I, an elderly disabled person said, "It worked fine, but I couldn't see the forms or what I was signing and when I went to the home, it was a different house...Ha, ha!🤨

01:40:28
The inaccessibility of mobile apps has specificly excluded many disabled persons from the Mobile Revolution. This is a digital inequity.
