To break that fever, we need House Democratic leadership now that would’ve been eager to impeach Trump again rather than reluctant and that would’ve called witnesses to the second impeachment that the Senate approved.

ROBERT WACHMAN

Great speaker! Thanks!
Barbara Moore

Primary elections are nearly here. What in particular are Democrats going to do to hone messages that will entice the media to cover the fact that the obstruction of Republicans have blocked enactment of policies that most Americans support? That focus has been missing.
Lisa Ferino
37:10
That was great, thank you.
Sandra Richardson
37:13
Want to help turn red to purple as well...like the fringes of the State of Jefferson?
Donald Lathbury
37:34
As we transition to the rest of the presentation, remember to use the Q&A feature to ask questions. On most computers, it’s a button on the bottom right.

looks like a southern appendage to the State of Jefferson....
Donald Lathbury
59:40
Remind to send all questions to the Q&A button. On most computers it’s on the bottom right of the video screen.
Nadine Halusic
59:52
Will we be able to get slide deck emailed. Such good information, but it went by too fast for me to take notes.
Paden McNiff
01:00:17
Yes! We will be sharing these slides with attendees.
Lorraine King
01:00:23
What are your thoughts on CD3, Dem Dr Kermit Jones vs R Kevin Kiley and R Scott Jones??
Donald Lathbury
01:02:05
No competitive Senate race.
Scott Roleson
01:02:18
I am also curious about CA-03 and Dr. Jones
Steve Freedkin
01:02:56
Scott, click “Q&A” at the bottom of your screen (on computers) to open the Q&A box. There, you’ll see Andre’s response about CD3.
Nadine Halusic
01:03:04
California is so important to the House. We lost 2 incumbents in 2020.
Nadine Halusic
01:04:41
Can you fund to pay local volunteers. In the Central Valley, local people going door to door is very effective, but the young people may not be able to volunteer without pay.
Dave Shukla
01:06:41
California is great place to train folks in the primaries, and then move to another paid job where needed elsewhere in the country...
Vera Sandronsky
01:06:52
Re improving messaging, have you heard about Galvanize, a research and advocacy group that uses neuroscience to develop micro focused messages to women? They also use deep canvassing. They have webinars coming up that are open to activists and progressive organizations. https://www.galvanizeaction.org/
Larry
01:11:25
Glad to see inclusion of people toward the left side of the political spectrum (or not really categorizable) and not just “swing” voters
Larry
01:11:51
Among those who don’t usually vote, I mean
Mary Claire Neumann
01:12:26
Re: paying canvassers in the Central Valley. Central Valley Matters has done fundraising for this purpose. Their website will be up in another couple of weeks.
Bruce Hahne
01:15:40
My understanding is that Central Valley matters includes: Dolores Huerta Foundation, Valley Voices, and Valley Forward. It's possible to donate directly to any of those 3 groups. One is a 501c3, two are 501c4's.
Bruce Hahne
01:17:12
These groups are doing voter registration and canvassing in their various areas, within the limits of their c3 or c4 status.
Larry Martin
01:19:37
CVM may not be working in all of the Central Valley House districts?
Nathan Diaz Legorreta
01:21:26
Yes, Pat we will be sure to circulate a recording!
Liz Keefe
01:22:29
Can you put the donation link in the chat ?

My notes on Central Valley Matters say: Dolores Hureta Foundation is Kern County. Valley Forward is West Fresno. Valley Voices is Kings County. Their focus is on the area which was formerly CD21.

is it tax deductable?
Steve Freedkin
01:25:25
Sandra, no, contributions to support or oppose candidates are not tax deductible.
Lisa Ferino
01:25:28
Central Valley Matters is a GREAT group coordinating closely with those 3 Central Valley groups and fundraising right now mostly for CA-22 but they might do work in other districts as well. If you’re interested in helping to flip CA-22, do support CVM. ALSO, Swing Left Peninsula is holding a fundraiser for hiring DACA canvassers in the Central Valley on March 10th: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/cvwc0310

FYI—There is an excellent and nuanced Mother Jones article on the SF School Bd. Recall. Takeaway: voters care more about performance than performative practice.

To help close the R+ reg advantage and increase overall turnout in CA40 inland foothill communities, our District Coalition is interested in IE investment for persuadable environmental voters in partnership with OC Conservation Voters/Green Roots targeted R & DNS voters who have history of crossing over for environmental voters - how can we proceed with the IE Roundtable?
Linda Ostro
01:30:07
Ronnie, I don't see my message in the chat so I may not have hit send. I'm wondering if you can come out to Rossmoor, that has the biggest Democratic club in the country, to do a live presentation now that things are opening up? Bart and I might be able to help arrange it.
Lisa Ferino

Does "being on the offensive" in CA mean we can get rid of McCarthy already?
Steve Freedkin
01:35:52
Holding the Senate means Biden-Harris appointments, particularly judicial, can get approved. Both are crucial, though, because if the R’s win the House, the Administration probably won’t be able to pass any legislation.
Larry Martin
01:36:15
This has been a REALLY GOOD webinar! Thanks to all of you folks.
Steve Freedkin

Are members of the Roundtable called knights? 😉

I think if Omicron turns around, which it looks like it’s doing, and they break up Build Back Better and pass some pieces, Biden will look better in the polls. I also think that most of America is moderate, and we gain by stressing the moderate policies, e.g. Refund not Defund the police.
Marthe Murray
01:43:37
