We experienced reactive severe hypoglycaemia in 2 patients in Kabwe, Zambia which was unusaully unresponsive to repeated glucose infusion and sugary meals

Dr Zaranyika

06:13:37
Thank you! The question I have: how will health systems in Africa cope with the exodus of health workers? For example the NHS here in the UK is hiring aggressively, with positions open to Commonwealth?

06:15:06
Is covid-19 causing DM as a totally new disease or is it unmasking patients who were already pre-DM?

06:15:13
Smell and Taste DIsorders (STDSs) ;D

Thank you Dr. Lenon for an excellent presentation

06:27:32
That excited me indeed, I wrote an opinion article in Namibia about this possibility, given that there was a famous cluster of SARS in Hong Kong that was fecal-oral

06:28:41
Thanks Lenon for the excellent overview on SARS-Co-2 and neurologic manifestations.

06:30:15
Excellent presentations. We are seeing a lot of older people in the UK with Covid presenting with atypical symptoms, especially delirium.

06:32:06
Great presentation Lenon!

06:40:53
Excellent presentations

06:43:12
such an excellent standard of presentations, research and discussion

06:45:06
Excellent presentations. I have noted a patient who presented with acute Ischemic Mononeuritis, a foot-drop. This patient is primarily being managed by Dr. Josephine Ojoo, and interestingly the patient has acute occlusive PAD-Peripheral Arterial Disease. Has anyone observed this in their practice?

06:46:47
I think generally SARS Cov-2 is going to confuse us. I have a patient I was managing for diabetes 74year old female, developed DFU had BKA was diagnosed with Covid-19 before the stitches were removed. She survived she's at home. I'm yet to review her though. So, quite unexpected but here we are.

06:47:02
Thanks colleagues for the excellent talks during this session

06:47:37
Thank you for the comment Prof Walker. Delirium has been described in covid19. I had presented it as an encephalopathy. I understand delirium can be due to stroke, encephalitis, etc

06:48:04
ππVery good presentations

06:55:18
@ Max DFU ( diabetic foot ulcer) question. Yes there are postulated mechanisms namely inflammation, ischaemia/CAC, peripheral arterial disease and vitamin D deficiency worsening diabetic neuropathy

06:59:55
Thanks @TrustZ.

07:01:50

07:34:42
Dr Pasi, would you recommend testing and treating covid-19 with an antigen based test taking into account limitations in labs conducting RT-PCR in Africa?
