Our visitors LOVE when we share their photos!

16:56
Hello Bill, yes, we'll share the slides along with the recording!

18:47
We partner with a local photography club and they volunteer at our Market to take photos and they share them all with us.

19:16
That's such a great idea, Sarah!

25:13
Love the prop table idea!

25:23
I LOVE THIS TABLE SETTING IDEA, SIMONE. Thank you.

28:43
Was the "light box". Thanks.

32:23
Alison, those were taken by our professional photographer, but you could totally DIY!

33:18
Judi, program is called Lightroom. We use the computer version for photo organization and the phone app plus the filters for photo editing.

33:41
Kristen, photos are FREE! We have sponsors pay for the photo booth.

34:01

35:20
In the off season We use photos from others who take beautiful features of our community for holiday greetings etc

35:26
LisaAnn, I would make a separate account and repost to your business page. That might help people start following the market’s page. Scheduling posts for both of your businesses would help with managing your time!

36:26
Mallory, our Amish vendors allow photos. They actually asked if I would print some and send them, but I know that each family is different.

37:26
Do any of the panelists post a sign about “being in our market allows us to use your image”?

40:41
In general, public events are fair-game for media but it depends on the technical format of your market/hosts and formal partnerships, etc. You could and should totally consider visible disclaimers though - for transparency and even to encourage participation in the photo-taking.

41:51
Megan, our photographer said the same thing. I have put out a sign if we are filming video, but general photos are fair game at public events. We have added a photo disclaimer to our website.

42:38
👏👏👏

42:45
THANK YOU! Your presentations were fantastic and very helpful!

42:59
WONDERFUL presentation all of you!!!

43:54
What do you recommend for taking pictures in areas that are not well lit? We typically do not have time to edit the photos since we need to take pictures quickly and post them fast.

44:27
Disclaimer: For smaller, more intimate community markets, media transparency is really important - perhaps less so for big city markets.

45:57
But we’re using it for marketing purposes. Not media — I’d urge people to take Jaqueline’s approach and tell people who are recognizable that you are photographing them and sharing it. (I’ve been in media and marketing; the rules can be different depending on if someone threatens to sue you for using them for commercial purposes.)

46:19
Maryland SNAP-Ed partners, trains, and supports farmers and market managers with a focus on healthy food access for all and best marketing and promotion practices to boost customer base , sustainability, and sales. From these awesome presentations, it would be great to have a tip sheet or checklist tool with all of these great suggestions. is this something that might be in the works to share? Thanks so much!

49:05
I recently heard a suggestion regarding vendor promotion - A couple of our markets are putting a requirement in their vendor contract that they will utilize their social media channels to promote their products being at the markets. And then the market managers cross promote. That seems to have been really successful because then you also get some "behind the scenes" photos.

50:00
I feel a little bit of this promotion issue because vendors don’t feel they are integral to promotion of their own product and think the role is mostly solely on the market. I don’t disagree we are responsible for part of it, but I’ve encouraged vendors to help by sharing, tagging, and reposting, but push back saying they don’t have time, even though we’ve had less time...

50:04
The challenge is trying to post new and unique photos each week when its the same product week after week!

52:14
If we have bad lighting I just let the vendor know I'm borrowing the product for a photo and take it somewhere in the market with better light. We have a few things at our information tent (burlap, denim, etc.) that I can use as a background.

58:25
Per year!

01:00:17
We will spend more this year to do the photos from our vendor’s farms, but again I think that is going to be great for our fundraising efforts and think that it will pay off for years to come. Our overall budget is about $100,000, so about 2-3%

01:00:23
What are your favorite things to take videos of? For IG reels and such?

01:01:39
Any tips for Off Season times? Here in Wisconsin our market is only open June through October, but I like to keep something

01:02:36
Thank you Simone! I will try a stabilizer this year. :)

01:04:00
Karen, for off season, we just post fun happy looking photos or vendor profiles. Just remind them that you exist!

01:04:03
Thank you so much for coordinating this FMC! It was incredibly helpful. :)

01:04:13
Thanks Everyone! Very informative!

01:04:22
Thank you!

Thank yoU!

01:04:25
Farming is year-round so perhaps off-season vendor spotlights is an idea for off-season.

01:04:36
Thanks, all.
