Question: I’ve noticed many school districts will be selling off their sites because of lack of enrollment, what’s a realistic timeline to acquire those sites to build affordable housing? (I can call later if we don’t have time now to answer)

42:29
Jessie Martinez/ FSC Program Manager, Family Solution Center, USHS, Jmartinez@unionstationhs.org ; Family referrals can be sent our FSC email, fscreferral@unionstationhs.org or families can self refer by contacting our main line, 626-337-0140

42:35
Any consideration for neighbor groups and NIMBYs regarding production?

42:58
How much ability is there for IBI to provide customized analyses for different organizations? Do they ever create public-facing tools that facilitate organizations doing their own analysis?

44:31
Thank you for giving us your time today. If you have questions regarding this project, please email me at stacy@lesardevelopment.com.

44:38
Dear Jorge, thanks for this question. I've noticed this too. School districts, as public agencies, have to go through a process to sell their land for housing development that state law requires to take several months. More broadly, affordable housing typically takes 3-5 years to develop, but part of our work, by looking regionally at scalable housing production, could speed up that timeline.

45:45
Thank you Farzad

45:56
Mark, that's of course a big barrier to housing production. As much as possible, we're trying to identify potential housing production that can be done "by-right," meaning a public body does not need to provide discretionary approval.

46:10
The first question: customized analysis issomething we can do and do regularly. The second: we can create simplified public facing tools. Feel free to email me if you’d like to set up a call to discuss further. Jason.king@ibigroup.com
