City of Davenport has a Native Roots program that you can apply for and get approval to return your yard to a native state. My yard is part of this program and I am about halfway there and I mix in edibles in my yard. My neighbor across the street has also enrolled and her yard will be inspected in June for approval to the program. Does Cedar Rapids have this type of program? Or any other cities/towns in Iowa?

Aphids love Milkweeds. They don't seem to hurt the plant nor do the Aphids seem to migrate to other nearby plants. I think Milkweed must be a special treat for them.

does Short Blue stem or Prairie Dropseed spread by seed?
Rita
57:18
Soloman Seal does spread so you have to plant it where you don't mind it taking over. I have it in the front by the deck and it has literally pushed up the brick path. It is real pretty in a huge clump.

What about hyssop, does it spread?
Rita

Hyssop does spread and I believe it hops around, too.
