Though the Poe signature isn't authentic, it's still appropriate to start with that on his 212th birthday, today.

Is it possible to analyze the materials (ink, pencil, charcoal, etc) with which the graffiti are written to establish potential dates?

What was the signature date of the confederate soldier again? And the date he was captured?

You mentioned the Civil War graffiti could have been written after. Are there other signatures by soldiers who died to confirm that signatures were being added during that time?
