when it is about an agreement between people (either spoken or unspoken) a loophole often feels exploitative or like a violation of consent. but a loophole with a structure or a ‘rule’ can be liberating

idk, I think loopholes are where a lot of marginalized people find room for themselves

can def be exploited by people in power too though

Pikuach nefesh. It makes sense to be more lenient about food in order to avoid future famine, so if there is a really bad start to the season I can see a reason to allow halakhically the extension of tending crops a little past shavuot

but that issue with lending is only actually a problem if there is a large gap between rich and poor

if housing and land or education are accessible to even lower incomes or ‘minimum wage’ then it makes perfect sense to forgive all debt in 7 years

in other words: outlaw millionaires and billionaires, suddenly these laws makes ense
