Why do funded companies/startups go for open sourcing their entire code?

@sahaj. There are many reasons at times including growing the community, promotion / PR, getting non-key important work for public to work on; project they left out for commercial reason but they love that, attract open source developers to join … list goes on

And manier times many startup founders are open-source lovers and they find it a way to pay back to the community
