What’s your recommended minimum internet upload/download speed?
Andy Weis
47:27
I have the same question as Nicola... is it worth buying a Mac or will you give us pc alternatives???
Drew Ford
48:42
FYI, you can check the upload speed of your internet connection at www.speedtest.net -- And a calculator for how long it will take to upload. http://www.meridianoutpost.com/resources/etools/calculators/calculator-file-download-time.php
Charles Barreda
48:57
can you connect audio interface to iPhone
Amy Likar
49:22
Just know that lightening connector on the MV88 breaks easily! Always use MV88 with your phone in a tripod! And Shure was awesome in replacing it for me. : ). (and it taught me quickly to use tripod and not put it on music stand…that’s how it broke…)
Diane Maltester
49:28
I used my Blue mic. What is the best settings in a bedroom size studio?
Norm Peck
50:30
“Spire” has been recommended for audio recording. Any Opinion about that?
Sergi
50:40
Will you actually show us how you record, so we can see the process in real-time? I feel this would be very helpful
Mary Kim
51:07
Can you recommend a couple of other good recording apps?
Eric Shifrin
51:57
I have Reaper daw but am very bad with it
Thalia Moore
52:56
For iPad, I have Audio Evolution.
Heidi Wilcox
54:15
if you record sound and video separately, how do you sync them up?
Charles Barreda
56:29
you could use adapter for mic stand
Sergi
56:47
what were the names of those tripod holders again?
Amy Likar
57:43
It’s in the handout that was in the email
Sandra McPherson
58:11

Gotta run to another meeting - I’ll look forward to hearing the rest on the recording! My 14 year old daughter is also enjoying the session. Thanks, Bruce!
fred randolph
01:00:45
i’ve been recording acoustic bass with an SM58 into logic as well as a direct signal. Do you recommend a usb mic such as Blue Yeti over the SM58?
Heidi Wilcox
01:00:47
sorry, I signed up late to join mtg, and don’t have the handout
Krisanthy Desby
01:01:50
What’s a good mic for recording a mixed ensemble? Strings + Winds
Mary Kim
01:03:49
When does this meeting end?
Norm Peck
01:03:55
Spire is an audio recording app.
Artie Storch
01:04:01
So what would be a good recording (audio) software for PC?
Norm Peck
01:04:55
Spire: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spire-music-recorder-studio/id1013021109
Marian Concus
01:05:20
Thank you, Bruce. I’m going to teach an online lesson now.
Amy Likar
01:05:38
I’m pretty happy with my Logitech c930 webcam for teaching on line classes.
fred randolph
01:05:52
Thanks for the response
E Miranda
01:06:37
Why are USB mic's not as good?
Heidi Wilcox
01:06:56
maybe a bit off topic, what is a good video recording device to record (not on a phone) because our phones are overloading with storage problems
Daria D'Andrea
01:08:15
i heard that an old school digital camera made good videos, like your old fuji or…
Leslie Chin
01:12:08
Thank you, Bruce. I’m leaving to teach. Will catch the rest on the recording.
Bennie Cottone
01:12:57
Are there any good ribbon mics under $500?
Heidi Wilcox
01:13:22
whats a good mic for clarinet? piano?
Bennie Cottone
01:14:12
What is this packet? The attachment in the email?
Gabrielle Wunsch
01:15:15
Bennie, are you asking about the Apple software package? If so, the details aren’t in the email, because Bruce’s contact at Apple called him about it 2 hours before the meeting.
Robert Seitz
01:15:31
The Blue Yeti has both volume and gain knobs. how do you adjust that?
Bennie Cottone
01:16:42
What is the handout?
Amy Likar
01:16:59
ON Blue Yeti, the volume knob is for headphones you may have plugged into it. . The gain knob is for gain.
E Miranda
01:18:07
Bennie, the handout was an attachment that came with Katie's email.
Bennie Cottone
01:18:42
ok, the ‘handout’ is the email attachment. that’s what i wanted to have straight.
Margot Golding
01:20:42
What type of microphone are the USB ones?
Ward Spangler
01:22:07
is there a way to improve the quality of the playback without plugging into a sound system?
kale cumings
01:23:07
Ward - use high quality headphones
Krisanthy Desby
01:23:44
What’s the brand of headphone you recommend
Thalia Moore
01:24:05
I have experienced a lot of latency when using bluetooth earphones while recording. Any tips for handling this problem, or are wired headphones the only solution?
Heidi Wilcox
01:25:19
they are tough with bowing though, always get tangled
Gabrielle Wunsch
01:26:05
Heidi, I find the individual headphones make a difference. Some are too big and I have the same problem, or hits my violin, etc.
Meredith B
01:26:40
Earbuds are also a good low budget option and tangle less
Mary Kim
01:26:57
Have to teach a lesson. Thanks for holding this workshop - I look forward to the recording.
Bennie Cottone
01:29:19
I have these Klipsch earbuds that ran $125 some years ago, which sound better than most speakers, and far better than those shitty Apple earbuds.
Jerome Fleg
01:29:21
For conductors live-streaming their conducting in Zoom (with background tack coming out of separate speakers), would video camera and audio recording recommendations be as previously discussed?
Lisa Burns
01:30:43
Thank you so much for this session.
Phil Keen
01:30:48

AKG 460 GOOD FOR PIANO
Sandra McPherson
01:32:39
And for clarinet?
Eric Shifrin
01:32:56
I was using 2 cigar Neumann for piano worked great
Krisanthy Desby
01:33:22
Strings & winds - good mic?
Bennie Cottone
01:37:06
So, with GarageBand, do you plug the mic straight into the Mac and tweak the sound in GB?
Thalia Moore
01:38:17
I paid $60 for Reaper. 60 day free evaluation period
Bennie Cottone
01:38:51
What does the audio interface do?
Thalia Moore
01:40:23
Apogee duo?
Amy Likar
01:40:50
I paid $500 through Sweetwater for the UA Thunderbolt 3 Arrow, perhaps it was on sale.
Bennie Cottone
01:42:51
If you record straight into a DAT recorder you would not need an audio interface, correct? But you could download the DAT file into GarageBand and tweak in there?
Artie Storch
01:43:15
Thanks so much for this! Gotta run - will catch the rest on the recording.
Artie Storch
01:43:26
STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!
Lisa Burns
01:44:06
Thanks - gotta go to a songwriter session. Really enjoyed it.
KRIS YENNEY

Jerome Fleg
01:47:46
For conductors live-streaming their conducting in Zoom (with background track coming out of separate speakers), would video camera and audio recording recommendations be as previously discussed?
Norm Peck
01:50:35
If only drums was that easy!
Sandra McPherson
01:51:35
Is that drum set in garage band?
Daria D'Andrea
01:52:32
Sorry to leave but have a student, thanks very much for sharing all of this experience!
Bennie Cottone
01:52:40
If a DAT (digital audio recorder) IS creating a digital recording, why is the DAW needed? I don’t get it.
Kenneth Crawford
01:53:14
drums were o.k. cymbals were not!
Caitlyn Smith Franklin
01:55:44
Do you build your own click track in Logic Pro?
Drew Ford
01:55:49
How good is this program at detecting the beat from a live recording, as opposed to being tied to a metronome?
Kenneth Crawford
01:59:41
Time for me to go. Thanks for the workshop.
Caitlyn Smith Franklin
02:03:08
and that change is across 4 beats?
Thalia Moore
02:04:00
How long did it take you to get the hang of Logic? Did you take a training course or did you learn it by trial and error?
Drew Ford
02:05:11
Click tempo automation is cool, but a while back we were given live recordings as a reference instead of a click. The tempo varied quite a lot. If you want to add a click to something like that how would you do it? I had to do it manually in Audacity, literally recording myself tapping a pencil and then cutting and pasting individual beats to correct.
Thalia Moore
02:06:38
Are those effects (reverb) included with the software, or do you have to purchase them separately?
Krisanthy Desby
02:10:35
For someone who’s not good with playing with tools & toys, what would you recommend?
William Klingelhoffer
02:11:57
Gabrieli composed for Basilica San Marco Venice, if you have that
Gabrielle Wunsch
02:13:24

Not crazy about A Capella
Eric Shifrin
02:20:16
was that zoom device you showed a stand alone solution.
KRIS YENNEY
02:20:31
Acapella is limited, but a good start...
Jerome Fleg
02:20:39
For live-streaming orchestra conductor for rehearsals in Zoom (with background ensemble coming out of separate speakers behind conductor), any best video camera and mic recommendations?(individual musicians are on mute)
Krisanthy Desby
02:20:55

Robert Seitz
02:23:36
