The first time my period skipped .. my gosh I thought I was pregnant hahaha and I cried and the most stressful 2 days of my life when I was 12yo

I can totally relate to Mariam. I only knew the importance of period health when I took the initiative to go to my gynecologist.

Another common problem I think is when older generation parents think that irregular periods, extreme cramps, spotting in between periods are all “normal”.
Faaizah Alquaid
27:57
I really think we need to also educate ourselves bc not all gynecologist explain things well (atleast in my experience). For ex w pcos- they rarely mentioned nutritional changes and lifestyles adjustments to me- just medicines!
Faaizah Alquaid
28:25
Sage tea is awesome for cramps- my daughter loves it

Faaizah Alquaid
36:31
I used an ob brand tampon without applicator and it got stuck inside
Faaizah Alquaid
36:34
I never tried again
Abigail Caidoy
38:24
In our culture it has been said that using Tampons and cups before marriage is not acceptable because it will “de virginize” a lady
Faaizah Alquaid
40:54
I wish i knew abt the various types of napkins, how to track and also to have a wider view of what my body was doing each week before/ after my period
Faaizah Alquaid
41:11
Like the gooey discharge- is that normal? Is the brown spotting ok? Etx
Faaizah Alquaid
41:36
Also from a religious perspective- what is considered the end of a period; what is considered the start, etx
Faaizah Alquaid
42:18
Also non medical interventions that i only learned from others- like sage tea, water bottles, exercise, etx
Bianca Danise
43:27
I wish someone had told me to track my periods. Knowing the different types of discharge that comes after periods (it used to freak me out! I thought there was something wrong with me 😭) And like Natalia, that periods affect sooooo many things.
Faaizah Alquaid
45:31
I knw what you mean Bianca!
Faaizah Alquaid
47:37
What abt constipation?
Faaizah Alquaid
47:48
I feelSuper constipated right before
Bianca Danise
49:30
One hack to reduce cramps is doing yoga for periods. You might not have the energy to do it, but it helps tremendously! I also do cardio exercises a few days before my period and this has helped me go through periods without cramps at all.
