Cytuno'n llwyr - I work in a university and if we didn't tell students about their right to submit assignments in Welsh or the services we offer, they wouldn't realize this is an option. We should offer so that people needn't ask.

I used to work next to a contact centre where people were offered the choice of Welsh or English. To no-one's surprise, most people chose English - maybe because they thought the language and concenpts used in dealing with government would be complicated enough in English, never mind WelshAll the contact centre staff were fluently bilingual, and we toyed with removing forcing customers into making a language choice, and the natural language desired emerging during the consultationWe knew that lots of customers would prefer to speak Welsh, but got cold feet when forced to make a choice

The great thing about the Cymraeg self-service option at Tesco is that at the end of your shop a speaker on the till says "Diolch am siopa yn Tesco". So not only do you feel good about using it, other shoppers nearby know that the facility exists (not that I've ever heard anyone else using it in Llandudno Junction

Rwyn teimlo lle'n bosib dylid cyhoeddiadau (yn cynnwys tocynnau parcio) bod yn ddwyieithog, yn hytrach na fforsio'r cwsmer gwneud dewis

Alan's point re normalising hearing the language spoken. More encouragement to use the Cymraeg badges and lanyards in shops and offices - esp front desks.

beth mae’r panel yn meddwl am neud cymraeg y ‘default’ a disgwyl i ddefnyddwyr gwasgu botwm ar gyfer Saesneg?

The 'Dysgwr' badges were great too for those who wanted to use Welsh but weren't fluent

Ensuring that services are as frictionless as possible for all our citizens is accepted. Is a lack of Welsh speaking User Researchers, content designers etc a barrier to developing services specifically for Welsh speaking citizens? If so how can this be overcome?

Given that road signs etc are Welsh first then English - I’m actually surprised that things like parking meters in Gwynedd (and all over Wales) aren’t in the Welsh language first with the user then having to choose English if that’s their preference.

Re my comment above, thinking mainly about the public sector where recruiting these skills is difficult

We're currently developing a bilingual transactional digital service in Welsh Government. We have a bilingual user researcher who is carrying out research in both languages working on this.

Gwelon ni gynnydd o 750% yn y nifer wnaeth ddarllen ein adroddiad blynyddol yn archwilio cymru rai blynyddoedd yn ôl pan wnaethon ni rhoi llawer mwy o bwyslais ar Gymraeg clir a sicrhau bod y Gymraeg yn hygyrch. Ond yn fwy trawiadol, aeth y sawl wnaeth ddarllen y fersiwn Gymraeg o'i gymharu â'r fersiwn Saesneg o 8% i 22%. Dangos effaith cadw pethau'n syml.
