31:49
The reasons for not recommending face coverings for young children are still relevant - safety concerns, cleanliness, staff having to assist and put themselves at risk.

32:13
nasal congestion AND runny nose not just a runny nose?

32:41
Why do the COVID tests continue to take 4-5, sometimes 7 days to get returned.

32:48
Close contact is regardless of having a mask on correct?

32:53
So what are the definitive recommendations? Mask or no mask for children 3-6 years - and when did that change - like how would we know that it changed since safer at home isn’t updated

33:55
Sally Wuellenweber sally@totspotnh.com The Tot Spot, Concord

34:14
Donna Pizzutillo

34:32
what if children do not want to wear masks? Is this mandatory or just a recommendation?

34:34
Donna Pizzutillo info@childrenselc.net

35:09
this is just a reccomendation

36:14
I would imagine opening your windows more often would help with air exchange, correct?

37:05
If we can’t get an HVAC upgrade is there no benefit of an air exchange system in each room in a shelter? This is in addition to recommended measures being taken.

38:16
@Pam Meaney - You can monitor testing turn around times on our dashboard. Most PCR tests at all of the major labs are completed within 2 days. Rapid tests are now available as well for symptomatic people and those results come back the same day. Here is our testing dashboard with turn around time data: https://www.nh.gov/covid19/dashboard/testing.htm#dash

39:56
Thank you Beth. Most of our families have a quick turn around, but I just had a staff member that took 5.5 days. are there certain places we should be sending families or staff members? And does it cost more for rapid tests?

39:56
@Stephanie McCosker: When we identify close contacts to people with COVID-19, the use of masks does not exclude someone from being identified as a close contact. The use of a mask is a very effective preventative measure, but does not eliminate risk.

40:48
Is testing still free? We are hearing reports of being charged for testing and this is a barrier for parents and child care workers.

41:24
@Tina Walker thanks for the clarification! New or unexplained Runny nose alone is a symptom that should prompt exclusion and testing

41:33
if a child has a cough, tests negative, how long we allow cough to linger before we require testing again?

42:00
One of my employees who went to urgent care on Friday with her 10 month old with an ear infection, said the urgent care told her insurance would not cover the rapid test, because it is not designed for children under the age of 5. Not sure if that will come up again. However, we have been getting the full test result back within 24-48 hours here in Keene.

42:15
Marquetta Sophos Elemenope

42:26
@Christine DAllesandro there are many testing options on our website: https://www.nh.gov/covid19/resources-guidance/testing-guidance.htm.

43:02
Alicia Deavor: wow!!

43:04
The NH DHHS/NG testing sites in Concord and Londonderry offer no-charge testing.

43:13
Thank you @Lindsay. I would just like clarification on cost - should we expect to have to pay for tests, for all tests or just some tests?

43:32
We have a family that 3 out of 6 household members had tested positive. The 3 positive members have come to the end of their 14 day quarantine (the whole family quarantined). The family was told that at this time the 3 that had tested negative need to now start their quarantine. Is this the correct? That would be a total of 28 days for the children (that tested negative) out of child care.

44:48
@ Kristin Ayers... that's crazy

45:10
OK, so a minute ago in this chat someone said that Runny Nose was not a reason for exclusion - Not sure who is answering the chat but we need to be clear

45:16
@Christine DAllesandro cost may vary based on site and insurance. Medicaid does offer a testing eligibility program: https://business.nh.gov/DOS_COVID19Testing/MedicaidTestFAQ.pdf

45:23
Will this presentation be shared?

45:45
I am now confused on the runny nose

46:18
Once a child gets a test and they test negative, do they still need to be excluded for another of time?

46:19
Agreed - on this chat someone said runny nose does not exclude…..

46:20
If people want a video to share about "Layers of Protection" (I know I'm going back a few minutes), Dartmouth pediatrician Kim Gifford helped us record this quick clip you can share. It does talk about the Upper Valley specifically, but otherwise is relatable: https://youtu.be/OncMAiv3pWQ

46:56
Please let thepublic health team answer any health related questions, so that everyone on the call gets the correct information. Thanks!

47:12
Thank you

47:16
can we get a copy of these slides... sorry if I should know how to do this already

47:26
I would like a copy too

47:32
What are the statistics on how many children 0-4 are diagnosed as COVID positive when going in for testing because of a runny nose in NH?

47:54
You can share them out to all attendees based on RSVPs

48:11
please send slides to childcare@emmanuelacc.net

48:11
My feeling is that a runny nose may not be Covid-19, but it is a symptom of some illness - other than a chronic condition like allergies -,so the child does not come to school until the runny nose is gone.

49:00
the recording, the powerpoint and the chat will all be posted at earlylearningnh.org by the end of the day

49:45
I thought it was now recommended 72 hours fever free

50:01
Is antigen testing effective with children under 5 years?

51:15
Why are Dr's writing these notes? Why are they not following your recommendations?

51:50
We are asking parents to contact their Health care providers for their child’s potential Covid symptoms and the providers are unwilling to allow the child to be tested for Covid AND are refusing to provide a Dr. note as to why they are refusing to order the Covid test.

51:51
What if family doesn't want to test their child, how long do they need to stat out of the center for?

52:05
is there a salvia rapid test. We had a few children that were nasal tested and are anxious when having their nose wiped.

52:32
What if a child has a runny nose and fever and the doctor says it's due to teething?

52:43
The Universal Guidelines say: Symptom-based criteria are met for discontinuation of isolation:1. At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first started,AND2. At least 24 hours have passed since last fever (off any fever reducing medications),AND3. Symptoms have improved; orii. Approved COVID-19 testing is negative, at least 24 hours have passed since their last fever (off any fever reducing medications) and symptoms have improved.

52:56
Letter to Providers regarding Testing and Exclusion: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/documents/hcp-letter-testing-exclusion-covid.pdf

53:05
patients are being billed for tests , over $100 per test- really difficult for families with multiple children

53:49
Dr. s seem hesitant to test children

54:22
testing should be free, it is to difficult for these parents to pay for it every other week for each symptom.

54:32
who is responsible for the cost of testing? for children I’m assuming their caretaker - but what if staff need to be tested multiple times due to symptoms?

55:01
Most of our students are getting Rapid tests. Should these not be accepted? Please clarify on what tests we should be asking families to get

55:58
PCR testing sites in NH: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/documents/covid-testing-sites.pdf

56:20
Antigen rapid testing sites in NH: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/documents/covid-rapid-testing-sites.pdf

57:12
Can we please get clarification highlighted VERY STRONGLY at public forums, that a negative test 72 hours after exposure or 72 hours after travel DOES NOT mean that you don't have to quarantine for 14 days - you could STILL test positive after that initial negative test, up to 14 days after exposure/travel. SO many people are NOT understanding this. They think a negative test is the end-all, be-all and they no longer have to follow quarantine requirements.

59:06
Medicaid testing benefit: https://business.nh.gov/DOS_COVID19Testing/MedicaidTestFAQ.pdf

59:53
It is taking a very long time for contact tracers to contact individuals who have had an exposure - they should not wait to quarantine - can this time be reduced?

01:00:17
Currently takes up to a week to be contacted

01:00:30
One of my employees just had to have her daughter tested and because it wasn't a doctor referral she has to pay the full 265.00. Her daughter did have symptoms.

01:01:31
Why are these tests so expensive ?

01:02:24
Our employees who need to be tested and have our Anthem insurance are incurring costs up to $ 100

01:03:23
yes - exactly.

01:03:46
If a parent travels via public transportation (airplaine) out of new England, we require the parents to quarantine and do not allow the parent into our building. However, the parents are then home with the child and touching, in close contact with the child. Does the child need to be kept out of childcare?

01:04:02
IF cost is a barrier due to insurance co-pays, individuals can get tested at the National Guard sites. If they do not have insurance, they can apply for the Medicaid testing benefit.

01:05:01
Is the Medicaid benefit only for one test, or can people apply for it each time they are tested?

01:05:02
Yes, but it is a hardship to travel to Concord or Londonderry from our area of the State - free tests should be much more available in every city - for sure!

01:05:39
@Melissa Gray- Only those who traveled would need to quarantine. In the case you shared, the child would still be able to attend childcare/school. You are correct that the parent who traveled should be staying home and not allowed in your facility.

01:06:34
@Elizabeth Telbot -can we get a response to Liz’s question about whether or not the Medicaid benefit is one time or can be used multiple times?

01:07:11
Certificate please; Amber Cassady, Country Kids Learning Center Groveton; countrykidslc2016@gmail.com

01:07:14
is it possible to go back a couple of slides to show when a parent is positive for covid - I couldn't read everything

01:07:27
The Medicaid benefit can be used multiple times during the Public Health Emergency.

01:07:36

If a parent travels on a plane but the child does not, does the child have to quarantine for 14 days as well as the person who traveled?

01:11:18
Regarding Medicaid benefit, it can be used more than once. When I said it was a one-time benefit, I meant that it is different from traditional Medicaid and you don't have to meet the eligibility of Medicaid and it does not give you other Medicaid benefits... it has one sole purpose, not necessarily one-time.

01:11:27
We can keep the recording going as long as needed.

01:11:37
Thank you so much Dr. Chan!!

Child Care Reopening guidance (last version 8-22) earlier specified, for so many reasons, why children in child care should NOT wear face masks -- sounds like that's a bigger change

some cities and towns have issued a mask mandate, by ordinance, for businesses. Do the Child Care Guidelines regarding face masks supersede those ordinances (still a strong recommendation)?

Certificate please and thank you

01:22:04
We encourage you to reach out to your municipality for clarification about their individual mask ordinances.

There were alot of questions sumbitted about family visiting from states outside of New England. Can you clarify what current gudnace is for children in homes with visitors from out of town attending child care?

01:23:23
Same for people coming to NH from outside NE states?

01:23:48
Just as a reminder, the current Child Care Guidance needs several revisions based upon the growing evidence. This will occur through the Governor's Reopening Task Force.

01:24:10
@Patricia is there a time table for those revisions?

01:24:37
What if employees have guests from out of the area? Do they need to quarantine before returning to work?

01:25:03
We are working on it. This is Chris Emond and hope to have a draft to the NH Task Force next week.

01:25:12
@Christina My understanding is that Chris Emond has a team working on making recommendations to the Task Force.

01:25:15
The revised guidelines that is

01:25:23
No, not unless those guests develop COVID-19. If your employee did not travel, they do not have to quarantine.

01:25:31
Thanks @Patricia and @Chris

Is it recommended in a family home daycare that children wear mask if the group is under a total of 10?

01:33:22
Please clarify all travel, I know you spoke in length about it, However, the guidance for child care needs to be black and white for parents to understand it. Thanks

01:33:51
Thank you for your time and information. It would be helpful to have additional information regarding Early Supports and Services that is based in the family home rather than a facility. Thanks again.

01:33:53
We all know some families will not follow the no gatherings recommendation for holiday. Do you suggest child cares close for 2 weeks after the holidays?

01:34:06
Q's: Has there been a direct correlation between the triple cases and tripled testing availability?
