If we can’t get an HVAC upgrade is there no benefit of an air exchange system in each room in a shelter? This is in addition to recommended measures being taken.

@Pam Meaney - You can monitor testing turn around times on our dashboard. Most PCR tests at all of the major labs are completed within 2 days. Rapid tests are now available as well for symptomatic people and those results come back the same day. Thank you Beth. Most of our families have a quick turn around, but I just had a staff member that took 5.5 days. are there certain places we should be sending families or staff members? And does it cost more for rapid tests?

@Stephanie McCosker: When we identify close contacts to people with COVID-19, the use of masks does not exclude someone from being identified as a close contact. The use of a mask is a very effective preventative measure, but does not eliminate risk.

Is testing still free? We are hearing reports of being charged for testing and this is a barrier for parents and child care workers.

if a child has a cough, tests negative, how long we allow cough to linger before we require testing again?

One of my employees who went to urgent care on Friday with her 10 month old with an ear infection, said the urgent care told her insurance would not cover the rapid test, because it is not designed for children under the age of 5. Not sure if that will come up again. However, we have been getting the full test result back within 24-48 hours here in Keene.

We have a family that 3 out of 6 household members had tested positive. The 3 positive members have come to the end of their 14 day quarantine (the whole family quarantined). The family was told that at this time the 3 that had tested negative need to now start their quarantine. Is this the correct? That would be a total of 28 days for the children (that tested negative) out of child care.

We are asking parents to contact their Health care providers for their child’s potential Covid symptoms and the providers are unwilling to allow the child to be tested for Covid AND are refusing to provide a Dr. note as to why they are refusing to order the Covid test.

Can we please get clarification highlighted VERY STRONGLY at public forums, that a negative test 72 hours after exposure or 72 hours after travel DOES NOT mean that you don't have to quarantine for 14 days - you could STILL test positive after that initial negative test, up to 14 days after exposure/travel. SO many people are NOT understanding this. They think a negative test is the end-all, be-all and they no longer have to follow quarantine requirements.

If a parent travels via public transportation (airplaine) out of new England, we require the parents to quarantine and do not allow the parent into our building. However, the parents are then home with the child and touching, in close contact with the child. Does the child need to be kept out of childcare?

IF cost is a barrier due to insurance co-pays, individuals can get tested at the National Guard sites. If they do not have insurance, they can apply for the Medicaid testing benefit.

Is the Medicaid benefit only for one test, or can people apply for it each time they are tested?

Yes, but it is a hardship to travel to Concord or Londonderry from our area of the State - free tests should be much more available in every city - for sure!

@Melissa Gray- Only those who traveled would need to quarantine. In the case you shared, the child would still be able to attend childcare/school. You are correct that the parent who traveled should be staying home and not allowed in your facility.

Regarding Medicaid benefit, it can be used more than once. When I said it was a one-time benefit, I meant that it is different from traditional Medicaid and you don't have to meet the eligibility of Medicaid and it does not give you other Medicaid benefits... it has one sole purpose, not necessarily one-time.

There were alot of questions sumbitted about family visiting from states outside of New England. Can you clarify what current gudnace is for children in homes with visitors from out of town attending child care?

Same for people coming to NH from outside NE states?

Just as a reminder, the current Child Care Guidance needs several revisions based upon the growing evidence. This will occur through the Governor's Reopening Task Force.

@Patricia is there a time table for those revisions?

What if employees have guests from out of the area? Do they need to quarantine before returning to work?

We are working on it. This is Chris Emond and hope to have a draft to the NH Task Force next week.

@Christina My understanding is that Chris Emond has a team working on making recommendations to the Task Force.

No, not unless those guests develop COVID-19. If your employee did not travel, they do not have to quarantine.
