there is a book I have read and used in clinics I have managed called "scaling up" (mastering Rockefeller habits) by Verne Harnish that has meeting rhythms includes huddles and other meeting template tools, also has KPI tools etc.. pretty good resource.. https://scalingup.com/book/

I have questions
debrap
54:48
Ik work the same way that Deb does...Deb Patten
Lauren Harris
55:56
The AMA Steps Forward program has a huddle section and resources that might be helpful https://edhub.ama-assn.org/steps-forward/module/2702506?resultClick=1&bypassSolrId=J_2702506#resource
Deb Bartel
56:12
another concern is we have such varying starting times/stopping times for work
Deb Bartel
56:33
people start as early as 630 and work until as late as 630
Lauren Harris
56:48
Huddles are a part of the PCPCH model so many do end of AM session, start of PM session
Warren Johnson - Scribe-X / Med-X
01:00:16
The most productive people will be the least interested in a huddle... that is why 15 mins helps and if the can speak to their production it will hook them
Deb Bartel
01:01:19
so if providers refuse to even try can it still work at the staff level?
Lauren Harris
01:01:45
Yes! The providers will see the benefits and get engaged later :)
Char Hall
01:01:54
yes it does

We have been having daily huddles (onece a day) for our Revenue Cycle team over the past 3 months - 1/2 hour per day, sometimes doesn't take that long - we have found a lot of benefit from this daily practice, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the tips from Jason and Warren...I run this huddle right now, but really like the idea of rotating it - I think my team of Supervisors would like, it,. Also, each supervisor has a daily huddle with their own teams....lot of good has come of those too!
lgiacomelli
01:03:16
Maybe try starting with a 5 minute huddle just around how everyone is doing that day as a start!
Holli Kivett
01:04:03
We started out with daily huddles, especially during Covid, then realized didn't need them as often, so we do them once a week now. We also instilled a separate one for the providers every other week. It has taken a bit, but now we have better engagement, and more collaboration than before! It works nicely. BUT, you do have to have a champion or leader to run them at first until everyone gets used to them.
Deb Bartel
01:13:37
yes but now they've radically reduced
Pam Colburn
01:13:46
agreed
Not Jill Arena: Jonathan :)
01:14:10
It did start strong, now we're seeing a plateau'ing of volume.
Deb Bartel
01:14:25
we're afraid to keep scheduling many because we don't know if payers will cover them anymore

we are now about 50/50 with telehealth and in office procedures
Deb Bartel
01:20:35
we went from 80 tmv / 20 ofc to the exact opposite of this within about 2 weeks.
Deb Bartel
01:21:01
really hard to do social distancing with that flip

Sometimes a RIF can equal an "addition by subtraction" scenario.

In my live webex with our lender they said you can definitely offer bonuses or hazard type pay to entice employees that are on unemployment that you want to bring back on your payroll.
Deb Bartel
01:41:45
so we can't get the medical insurance for our partners forgiven? how does this make sense?
kanderson
01:43:27
Can we use the lease we pay for our hard assets that are in a LLC?
Not Jill Arena: Jonathan :)

Will the IRS tax the PPP?
Not Jill Arena: Jonathan :)
01:44:50
Thank you.
Deb Bartel
01:45:14

Char Hall
01:47:05
I use an excel document that Deb sent me.. so far :)
Deb Bartel
01:50:18
but we didn't have the rules they want now when we did our original calculations....so can we go back to what it should have been under the new required method and change our numbers before we're possibly penalized?
Char Hall
01:53:07
Sorry I may have missed this,, but are we supposed to track payroll monies based on the payroll date "paid" or the actual days / dates worked
Not Jill Arena: Jonathan :)
01:54:19
