There’s a physical token, called the costal Marin fund circulated by a couple of villages in coastal Marin California. These are physical coins minted and accepted by some of the locals. They cost something like $1 to mint, and you can change USD for equivalent amounts in $3 coins. If I’m not mistaken, when tourists take the currency “home”,the remaining $2 is left to the local community/non profits. Could you see a version of something like this (physical token, cryptocurrecy, etc.) in New Mexico?
