Would you consider a United Way agency that makes humanities programming/access available to youth or adults eligible? I'm wondering if the United Way on its face would be ineligible.
William Pierce
01:03:37
We experienced a significant loss of manpower in that volunteers were not available as they would in a normal year. We had to hire a student intern to help. Would that qualify?
Jenn at Fort Fairfield
01:09:36
I an a solely municipal funded library, but we do provide humanities services with our extensive historical archive and Maine Humanities Book groups in a very rural area of Maine and we serve low income and minority population of the Amish. and migrant workers.? We are not 501c3 but solely municipal supported
Judy Feinstein - Hubbard Free Library
01:10:17
You said the application must be completed in one sitting. Can the form be downloaded so that we can draft our answers first?
Brenda L. Gould
01:11:19
Are public libraries that are municipal departments eligible?
Kyle- MHC
01:11:39
I believe it can be downloaded or printed. We also suggest typing your answers into a word do as you work through it. You can then copy and paste into the boxes as you go through the final time.
Christopher Gibson
01:11:54
The not eligible section includes orgs with significant public funding, yet you also mention public libraries as a typically eligible org. Most public libraries are mostly funded with public funding...What's the verdict?
christine
01:12:04
please be certain to clarify that you are looking for ONLY 750 characters (including spaces) NOT words to save applicants time. these are short responses
Shirley Wright
01:12:57
My organization does advocate but that is not our sole purpose. We also provide support and professional development across the whole state for adult education programs. These programs have a huge humanities focus across all of your impact areas. We have lost significant funding due to COVID-19 because we cannot hold our annual conference in June. Are we not eligible?
Judy Feinstein - Hubbard Free Library
01:13:11
Please confirm the statement here about 750 characters including spaces!
Kyle- MHC
01:13:29
Yes it does include spaces.

01:14:51
IS there any way to apply for expected losses from July to October when our museum is open
Christopher Gibson
01:18:13
could one org apply for 2 different grants that total under $7,500?...for 2 different projects?
tremont history society
01:18:18
Not clear to us what goes in the operating budget field
tremont history society
01:19:19
Qill there be another grant application request and funding later in the summer?
Lisa Lutts Castine Historical Society Maine
01:19:22
Should we use gross revenue for projected revenue and also expected revenue? Or net?
Gwen Doak
01:21:44
if we had to cancel fundraisers how do you want us to estimate those losses? based on previous fundraiser income? even if new style/event types?
Lisa Lutts Castine Historical Society Maine
01:23:37
But for seasonal museums that don't open until June.
Judy Feinstein - Hubbard Free Library
01:23:53
The guidelines suggest that the grant could replace lost revenue (for operating expenses). With that in mind, do you want to see a program proposal, or a description of what programs were suspended that would have contributed to revenue?
Ogunquit Library
01:25:51
We also like to know about the above question:if we had to cancel fundraisers how do you want us to estimate those losses? based on previous fundraiser income? even if new style/event types?
jean
01:26:42
same fundraiser question
Gwen Doak
01:29:25
would hardware to boost library's free wifi signal due to school closure/etc qualify? it is not really programming expansion but expansion of current offering out of concern for people congregating too closely together on the property & increased accessibility in other areas of town
Linda
01:30:27
guidence for public libraries before being able to open include plexiglass type barriers for patron/staff safety, disinfecting etc-does this new expense qualify?
Jenn at Fort Fairfield
01:30:30
I have the same question for wifi
Jenn at Fort Fairfield
01:32:18
great thank you!
Lisa Lutts Castine Historical Society Maine
01:32:31
It would seem to be gross because your asking for our operating budget.
Judy Feinstein - Hubbard Free Library
01:33:00
Will these questions and the answers be included in the FAQs that you plan to post early next week? (I would think so.)
Kyle- MHC
01:33:30
Yes we will be compiling questions from both groups for the FAQ which should be available by Tuesday at the latest.
Shirley Wright
01:35:02
