1. SC DIGITAL DRIVE - To get their local county maps, please visit www.scdigitaldrive.com and use the pre-release password REVD to enter the site. Congressman Clyburn has agreed to host a launch event on June 23 at 11am and the password will be removed at that time. Over 200 SC broadband maps are available on the site including current versions for all 46 counties. All maps are FREE and your attendees just place the map(s) they want into a shopping cart and checkout. It’s basically iTunes for broadband maps and this is the first broadband map store in the US! Upon checkout, a download link will be issued and each order results in the delivery of a high resolution PowerPoint slide which can be immediately used in a presentation.2. SPEEDTEST – To learn how to test the speed of your network, your attendees can download the free app “Speedtest by Ookla” (highly recommended) or visit www.speedtest.net. By pressing GO, a user sees their current Internet speed in about 30 seconds.

57:51
Other than Sen John Scott, who are the legis champions for broadband at GA?

58:33
I understand ensuring broadband is accessible to every household, how will it be affordable?

01:00:55
Jim and Pamela, How do you envision municipalities and counties assisting with this initiative?

01:00:56
Thanks gosh someone finally mentioned the “L” word. Don’t forget that its not just about access is about expertise in how to use it/what you can with internet access.

01:01:09
“Libraries” just in case you missed it…;)

01:02:31
Who are the state leaders we need to encourage before June 24-25 House and Senate move on the accelerate SC recs? Who are the legislative leaders for broad band?

01:02:40
at-home access is really important. i’ve read a case study about the Beaufort county library system hot spot lending library. good stuff

01:03:33
Here’s the case study: https://www.kajeet.net/success-stories/local-library-beaufort?__hstc=215977800.dea32c1afbb947cf6800f23b3d51da7e.1586801629912.1588100419800.1588108556662.14&__hssc=215977800.1.1588108556662&__hsfp=1881032846&hsutk=dea32c1afbb947cf6800f23b3d51da7e&contentType=listing-page

01:04:05
Susan...Rep. Clyburn is an advocate!

01:04:50
Thanks Langley - who are our SC Senate and House leaders ?

01:05:05
Could folks see developing a local collaborative and plan of attach as many of you have done for the COVID-19 response?

01:05:23
Yes!

01:05:37
I can see it Madeleine

01:05:37
Please address the issue of families being able to afford access. Are any of the funds available to assist with household costs for access?

01:05:38
Yes! I think that would be a great approach, Madeleine.

01:07:54
How can churches connect with the internet providers as they have acres of land and facilities in rural areas that could be great centers

01:08:11
yes kabrina

01:08:47
put speed tests in the church bulletins

01:08:59
Do folks need a sample email to send your legislative reps or have you got this? This is such a perfect advocacy role for philanthropic and nonprofits?

01:09:27
Great idea, Madeleine!

01:09:31
Madeleine - I so agree!

01:09:32
Madeleine, a sample email would help.

01:10:01
A joint letter with all our signatures?

01:10:04
Mamie Nicholson has asked about affordability. Could this be addressed?

01:10:07
love the way you are all thinking! add speed testing links everywhere--that will show the need

01:10:28
Kabrina - I know there are examples of this in Kershaw County. The Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County expanded to churches in that county and were having a lot of problems with their internet coverage. Thankfully, they will be covered under the new ReConnect grant.

01:11:19
Yes! affordable access is huge. Please do a part 2.

01:11:20
affordability would be key to those we serve.

01:11:40
Love the idea of a separate conversation on adoption and what we as nonprofits can do to advocate for this.

01:12:00
Catherine and I had a call with a telemed person from St. Louis about a year ago. He said there is funding available through the hospital systems to help find funding for the households.
