What does the timeline look like for lodging? Will there be different timelines for cabins vs hotel/motel? Is the date of 5/31 still good?

We’ve been hearing a lot about the business community involved in the economic recovery group, and everyone seems really concerned about the future of businesses here which is great, but I also wonder what voice the workforce has in this conversation?Servers or bussers or dishwashers will have a very different perspective than the owner of the restaurant. It seems to me that everyone who has a voice in planning is not rolling up their sleeves and working in direct, high-volume contact with visitors. Restaurants will be particularly challenging because guests can’t wear a mask while eating dinner, and there is a high chance of germ transmission through plates and glassware. I hearing from restaurant staff that they are afraid to go back to work, and they will take a pay cut if they are asked to go back to work before Federal unemployment ends. Some people are saying that they feel like they are going to be a public health experiment.

So I am wondering if you heard any of these voices, have you sought out any of theses voices and how they and how they can get involved?

At Tuesdays meeting, led by John Peters, it was decided to draft a letter to the Governor stating that Mono County along with several other counties, was ready to open. Is that going forward?

We produce a small arts and crafts event at Kittredge Sports in late July (anywhere from 20 to 40 artists, no food, no music, no sponsors). Do you expect this type of event has possibility of happening or absolutely not? Not sure if applying for a permit makes sense now or if we should continue to hold off. Thank you for the meeting.

With unemployment recipients receiving an extra $600 per week through the end of July, what is the plan to ensure housekeepers, waitstaff, dishwashers, and others will actually come back to work before then?

What is MLT's plan to start actively promoting visitation back to town and the surrounding area?

We should also look at other countries / states / cities and see what has worked and not worked and learn from them.

I'm worried that as certain businesses are "allowed" to begin operating, that they will no longer qualify for monetary assistance. And while in a city this may not be as much of an issue, I believe that if our visitation numbers are significantly lower this summer, then even if businesses are allowed to operate that they still may not financial succeed. Is there any way to let our state government understand the unique issue this may pose in specifically tourist driven communities (obviously we are not the only ones that may have this issue)

01:42:28
Dr Boo, are you concerned that if Mono County opens first among counties for near-cations, that we could be inundated with droves of Californians? Are we truly prepared from a health standpoint?
Nash Family
01:44:05
was there discussion yesterday or at any time regarding our county and community opening for our local population first? Examples being allowing Mono County residents to perhaps book camp sites, stay at hotels, make tee times to golf, etc. A sort of soft re-opening for locals before we start promoting tourism.

When looking towards groups, I'd like to ask that we look at person per square foot rather than total # of people at a group event. Some of the opportunities for this summer will be in programing rather than "events"
