We need help in talking about the race issues within the business environment. most of us are upper middle class, many are immigrant from India, Europe, Asia.... We sincerely want to work on more diversity. We do not feel safe to discuss our feelings, observations, … it is not easy

As a President of a echnology company - have struggled to hire diversity - and I love to speak about WIT (Women in Tech) trying to get more women to join tech - but want diverse races - not just gender. Does the Oracle community need to create a channel like WIT - or change that up?

Daya's comments are related to what I've been thinking. Aggressively recruiting diverse candidates needs to continue but has not made much of a difference so far. Hiring authorities still need to look at whether the candidate meets the qualifications. The issue is ensuring that people of all backgrounds have the same opportunities to become qualified. So perhaps the question is how can HR professionals get involved in the community to nurture future applicants.

You may be able to recruit People of color if there are issues with the culture they will not stay.
