I like to use النوع الاجتماعي for gender! But sometimes the client does not accept the translation, they prefer نوع الجنس أو الجندر؟!

كثيراً ما نسمعهم يقولون: هذا البئر عميق، أو هذا بئر – بتذكير كلمة (بئر) وهذا غير صحيح، والصواب: هذه البئر عميقة، أو هذه بئر، بالتأنيث لأنَّ كلمة (بئر) مؤنَّثة يؤكَّد ذلك الشاهد القرآني، قال الله تعالى: "وَبِئرٍْ مُعَطَّلَةٍ وقَصْرٍ مَشِيدٍ" سورة الحج، من الآية 45. وجمع (البئر): أَبْآر، وآبار، وأَبْؤر، وبِئار. ويقال كما في المختار: بَأَرَ بِئراً: أي حَفَرَها. يتبيَّن أنَّ الصواب: بئر عميقة لا عميق، و(هذه بئر) لا (هذا بئر) لأنَّ (البئر) مؤنَّثة.

I think المنظور الجنساني is very frequent nowadays.

Check also your audio settings to make sure that it’s working

Why is it a problem that "everybody" is masculine?In Greek which is a european language, they have the same rule.If one person in the group is masculine and the rest are fem. then it becomes masculine.

I don't think it is necessarily a problem that some people have with the gender rule, but rather that the world (including language) is trying to be use more friendly inclusive language (so people do not feel left out of the conversation). This is at least what most people aim for.

I think we can use الطلَلبة for students to avoid using الطلاب والطالبات as الطَلبة means all the students regardless their gender

In general, we use the masculine and it refers to both males and females! We use this if we don't know the pronoun!

I personally don't think that reading الطالب instead of الطالبة would be a problem or leave me feeling excluded! Still, I like the way Ms. Thalia Rahme has approached inclusivity. The use of the plural form is genius!

I think that even the Arabic culture isn't fully open to such topics that's what will make this process longer to solve

sometimes we use the plural structure when talking or addressing people for the first time as a sign of respect, and I think it works all the time

and it's can forgiven to address people by the gender that you see. and rarely people would get offended

what Google and Face book have implemented by translating almost all content to 3 different form: masculine, feminine, and a no gender form. then allow algorithms to display the correct form.. this has solved most of the issuses

I don't think it's a problem, I mean we are used to using the masculin for both genders.

In my humble opinion, the demands of such groups you mentioned are somehow exaggerated and not based on scientific basis. They are rather idiological and purely meant to criticize religion and Arabic language. Therefore, scientifically speaking, I don't see any problem in using male words to refer to females as any other language, like English.This is just my personal opinion and thank you for your presentation ☺️

The problem is only there when using the singular form only

What if the mascular plural word includes females too? Do I still have to look for another word?

I can answer regarding Greek. They have the "polite" manner where you can use plural instead of singular. So, like حضرتكم".solves the problem, but I've seen that "@" is used for pronouns when you can't determine the gender.
