will we be getting letters in the mail about absences?
No, however, the nurse or principal may contact you to ensure students are ok and getting the instruction they need.
I believe distance learning is the safest option for our students. What happens when a student or faculty member is asymptomatic?
how will special education be handled, as far as changing classes
Will students be attending elective classes?
Can't hear questions. Can Mr. Goodman repeat question when answering please. Thank you
I will speak louder
Comment- not question: I don't consider music, tech, or art PE to be elective. Please keep specials offered if at all possible even if added into the regular teacher classroom environment. Thank you.
Thank you for your input we also feel these areas of instruction are important.
Can we download the slides after this?
This presentation is being recorded and a link will be provided. Thanks.
With large events being cancelled, are students that are new to the school this year going to have the opportunity for a school tour so they can become familiar with the campus prior to the first day
This may be discussed later, but will the school still be doing an orientation the week prior to starting? If so, do we have dates or a plan established? Thank you
my girls have hearing loss and wear hearing aids. we have already noticed that they have a harder time hearing people wearing mask due to the muffled sound. I get that students may not have to wear mask the whole day but will teacher be wearing mask while teaching?
Ms. Smith, we have taken your girls into consideration and accommodations will be made. :)
We will look at providing virtual tours but we will be working on reducing the amount of traffic within the schools prior to school opening so we can keep the school sanitized.
okay thank you.
Will there be a staggered start between different grades?
Would it be possible for teachers to wear a face shield rather than a cloth mask? I imagine it to be a hurdle to teach phonics and reading to young children when they’re unable to see the teachers mouth/facial expression.s
So is staff going to be available to direct the littles to their classes then? If they are not familiar with where to go, I am worried about them panicking on the first day.
Hi Kim, yes, staff will be available to help students navigate where they need to be.
Can parents volunteer to help with the daily precautions?
Hi Andrea, we will be addressing visitors. Thanks.
Yes, all staff will be on hand to help students move throughout the school. We understand the need especially for our youngest learners.
Will the school day in Step 2 still be the same hours? Or will the time be modified?
Will students who choose the online option be able to return to school at a later time?
Currently the start date remains August 5th and school hours remain the same. This is subject to change.
If the school goes to the students needing to wear masks, will the students be able to transition to online?
Mr. Goodman is discussing that now.
For online, if parents are needed to be involved would the instruction come more direct from teachers? And would it then be staggered by grades for families with kids in multiple grades.
does that include gifted student?
Would this also apply to the gifted pull out?
Online instruction will be an option. We will be work on a more detailed plan however, our first step is identifying how many students will be utilizing the online option.
can we change to online training ; later; once clases hace started if covid cases increase?
Gifted instruction will be provided but may look different than in the past. It may be more push-in, similar to special education.
If a student starts the year with online instruction, would they be able to transition back to the classroom if/when conditions improve.
if we choose online, can our children go into the school for their special education services only?
Ms. Munson, we are still working on the online instruction details which includes the schedule. We will take into consideration students in the same family attending different grade levels and schools.
I am wondering what the drop-off procedures will look like. Are there going to be multiple drop-off locations? What time can students be dropped off since they should not be congregating. What will that all look like?
And pickup procedures for that matter as well.
Has the possibility of pushing the start of school out to September been considered?
Is there a certain point that would cause a full school shut down again?
is outside/pe time taken together with other class room or grades?
Will the start and end time remain the same?
At this time start and end times remain the same
