how does ccpa impact temperature screening?
Is there a reason why you wouldn't want to temperature check onsite? Don't you think employees may feel safer if they are relying on a consistent thermometer and process?
any suggestions on appls or programs for the self-monitor/self report?
Do you recommend a signed acknowledgement from employees for the temperature screening? Also, what should an employer do if an employee refuses to have their temperature taken upon showing up for work?

As you're considering your PPE purchases of face coverings and gloves, please ensure you address latex allergy issues. Latex free materials are in short supply.
My son works at Target and even they are taking temperatures for all employees before they start their shift, and they are paying the employees for an extra 3-5 minutes to allow for the wait time to get their temp taken
We have been doing temp checks, they clock in first, wait six feet apart, checking a box on a log that one manager has been designated to complete after temp check. So far no issues.

is there any online course explaining rules about protecting the workplace for workers.
We implemented a protocol for self temperature checks at the employee entry. It is working well and I’m happy to share it. The SD Public Health Order seems to “require” temp checks upon entry.
With that said are we OK to use the a health questionnaire (self-assessment) and can or should we maintain copies of those?
why would an employer use every cubicle? wouldn't you still want space between and certain height requirements of the walls? are employees required to wear face coverings while in the workplace?

Since the health information is so fluid regarding temperatures, would it be acceptable to do a screening and then destroy the information so that it reduces risk of data breach?
The current health order in effect requires a temperature check prior to entering the facility. This was reiterated last week by the County Health & Human Services Agency on their telebriefing call. The exception is while you are waiting on receiving a thermometer you may use the symptom questions. The temperature can be self administered but must be observed by the employer
Per Lori Wilson's note above, if you are looking for guidance to re-work your physical space, the design firm who helped you build-out the office is likely prepared to help you quickly prepare a new plan identifying what to move and how to add signage and reminders into the space you have. I know the firm I work for is getting calls from clients for plans and evaluations.
Does Tracy recommend that employees wear face masks when they return to the office, and what about employees who are on the phone as the primary role (e.g. sales)?

Any recommendations when it comes to onboarding new employees in a virtual environment? How do we ensure a warm welcome while remote?
To Ali’s question, has the panel moved to 100% recruiting and hiring? We have one client that is conducting their final interview as a “walk and talk at the beach” conversation, while we are also about to place a new CEO, and the entire process has been virtual!
What about restrooms? Urinals are not 6 feet apart. What do you recommend to communicate to employees about restroom usage?
Ken, we have moved almost every aspect of our recruitment to virtual. Only very senior hires have had their final interview in person and it was kept to a 3 person meeting with plenty of space between the individuals.
Are there any recommended/suggested vendors for temperature screens?
You can mark some urinals with Do Not Use just like you would with conference room chairs. They have stickers that you can place on the bathroom floors that show employees where they are allowed to stand as well.

At Deloitte we have been conducting bi-weekly wellbeing pulse surveys, offering meditation and mindfulness seminars, Zoom 'happy hours', have implemented a 'no apologies' protocol so people feel comfortable and accepted regardless of their home situation (kids, dogs, spouses, etc.!).

Does the panel think this forced “work from home” transition will encourage hiring managers to consider hiring non-local talent more consistently? For certain positions, it would definitely save some money to hire in lower cost of living regions
We tend to virtually onboard people in our global organization so nothing has changed for us during Covid-19. Robust online program that covers culture, policies, etc., we have a buddy assigned to each new hire, and the hiring group creates a bespoke, structured onboarding plan for that employee.
