Thanks for our Solarize Newton Morgan program Don! Congratulations on this new position!

24:55
Looks like there's also a 2:30 subcommittee meeting on Gullet's bill: https://www.legis.ga.gov/schedule/house/AQIARgAAAxpEc5CqZhHNm8gAqgAvxFoJAGeQLC1kSDdIixjC7EHFmfIAAAJaYAAAANZQGGA2fqFiaHBHrewZqJ2eET4AAhdbcTAAAAAuAAADGkRzkKpmEc2byACqACGGA2fEWgMAZ5AsLWRIN0iLGMLsQcWZ8gAAAlpgAAAA

25:28
Ga Solar has a great web page with information for homeowners interested in solar here: https://www.gasolar.org/solar-for-georgia-homeowners

25:42
What is monthly netting please?

26:15
That's very nice, Madam Jennette!! Thank you for sharing!!

29:18
Unrelated question. Is there any reason why GA Power are not in the residential solar business? I'm just wondering if there's a reason they don't install/rent/sell solar panels to home owners

30:27
They do have a small residential solar program that partners with installers. They invest much more in utility scale solar.

30:33
Do SB583 and HB1491 include restrictions on what standby fees can be charged?

31:18
Yes.

33:00
Would any of these bills allow solar customers with home batteries to gird-charge their batteries during off-peak periods, thus helping to further improve the resilience and efficiency of the gird?

33:24
Does that apply to historic neighborhoods?

33:58
Do any of these bills address lifting the cap?

34:10
Negative, Evelyn. That's a great one to advocate for in the future though

34:10
SB 583 action link: https://environmentgeorgia.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=49181

34:23
Tim--I am 90% sure it does not but I'll confirm.

34:57
Judith, SB253 lifts the caps on monthly netting for Georgia Power and EMC customers

35:33
Thanks Seth, the language wasn't clear to me.

35:34
Thanks Don! SELC's action link is here: https://act.southernenvironment.org/bNL3ZFX

35:55
HB 1083 action link: https://environmentgeorgia.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=48835

36:16
Evelyn, I’m not aware of utility policy explicitly restricting the ability to grid-charge battery energy storage. Some battery manufacturers don’t allow it

36:20
(Not pushing for our action link over EG's! Encourage using allll the action links. :)

39:32
Good point, Seth. I think that could be clarified through legislation, possibly along with EV2G (EV to grid) framework.

39:43
Seth, my sense is that the manufacturers that don’t allow it (ex. Tesla) are doing so because of possible state/utility prohibition, except when there are no solar panels or there is a weather emergency.

Exciting to hear bout Q cell. Just curious, why don’t you have solar panels on your factory roof? Seems like commercial rooftop solar is way underutilized.

01:06:08
Don Moreland, Thank you very much for sharing your legislative policy update on Georgia Solar Policy. I’ll be sharing it with my Georgia Tech students, who are so supportive of all things solar!

01:12:12
Thank you everyone.

Please reach out if you're interested in advocating for solar in Georgia!

01:12:49
Thank you all! Don congratulations!

01:13:31
We were just denied solar in our community because of HOA Covenants. Is there anyone willing to make a presentation to our HOA about the value of solar?

01:15:03
Thanks to all presenters! Awesome, as usal

01:15:16
usual :) !

01:15:55
Janette: Was about to get off, but heard this. The covenants are contracts, and may violate public policy as they deny rights under the Co-Gen Act. NMG

01:16:26
Janette: Don't have audio here. Sorry.

01:17:07
Have Bette give me a call. NMG
