01:07:46
Do the utility companies not mind if you paint them? Or do you need to ask permission? Or forgiveness? lol

01:08:06
I was wondering that same thing...

01:10:49
We wrapped the utility boxes when I worked in Orlando, Florida. The power company had to consent and approve the artwork. It took some convincing but they eventually allowed it. We had artist create the artwork and them had it turned into a vinyl wrap for the boxes.

01:12:34
Good rule of thumb is gain permission to paint or wrap utility infrastructure. :)

01:14:15
That's a wonderful idea!

01:14:16
Ok, who is hosting Georgia's Smallest Festival?? LOL

01:14:55
Sounds fun.

01:15:16
I really love it. Wheels already turning. lol

01:15:31
Such a cute idea!

01:15:57
Love the Fishbone Alley transformation!

01:16:20
Make it Funky. Shout out to James Brown?

01:17:31
Seeing the "before" picture of Fishbone Alley reminded me: what do others have in place for limiting dumpsters, location of dumpsters, and location of grease barrels?

01:18:00
That's an alley?? Wow

01:19:14
OK we need a new word for that alley in Aiken, SC. because its more of a plaza. How about a Plazalley :)

01:19:39
We call them Promenades in LaGrange.

01:19:50
Agree! A "plalley"?

01:21:55

01:24:37
Hypothetically :D

01:24:58
He answered by not answering ;)

01:25:44
In Milledgeville, I was told we can't wrap the GP utility tower things at the intersections but we could paint. Seemed opposite of what I'd think but that's what they said.

01:25:55
it all goes back to relationships!

01:25:59
Showing examples helps make the case for doing it

01:26:08
Foleyis replacing all dumpsters and we get to choose the color and if we want to we will get a chance to make them art

01:32:37
How do you accommodate or soothe developers who are waiting for your city government to do more in the downtown area before spending more of their funds on development - in light of the incremental nature of change?

01:35:03
Good question.

01:37:44
What size was ArtFields starting out?

01:38:14
Are artists paid to come or do they pay to participate?

01:38:18
What is the Bean Market used for outside of the Art Fields festival?

01:40:37
Lake City sounds similar to my city, Monticello, in terms of its isolation from the Interstate, a small population, and the loss of economic drivers; however, we do NOT have anywhere for visitors to stay. Hopefully, our bed and breakfast will reopen in the next year or so, but how can you plan this type of festival without any hotels/motels? Do you have to partner with neighboring communities or is this a case of "if you build it, they will come?" - meaning that if there is a guaranteed need, that developers will come

01:41:06
Where does prize money come from?

01:41:33
We did the piano experience and currently have 3 pianos out in the city

01:41:36
Where do they store the pianos and who puts them out?

01:42:46
I absolutely love the paint by numbers mural to engage the community!

01:49:52

Color the World Bright Murals out of UGA is who Hartwell uses for our murals. They are fantastic. You don't have to be an Archway Community to contract with them. https://art.uga.edu/tags/color-world-bright

Wow! I have so many ideas for downtown Nashville, GA!!!!

02:11:12
Would be great to have one specifically for this bootcamp.

02:13:07
We started a public art initiative in our community. We are installing four murals on the corners of our town square, and an Art Alley that features local professional and student artists. This inspired our local high school art and technology teachers to create a collaborative "3D Sculpture Art Class" to create art for our community.

02:25:19
that is hilarious

02:25:52
The look on one's face when you call them on their BS even more so :)

03:09:41
Thank you so very much! I feel so extremely hopeful for our little community understanding it is a marathon and not a sprint!

03:09:52
Thank you for the very valuable information. Many ideas that hopefully we can incorporate into our city.
