Sylvan Lake FCSS is looking to start a "Grandpals" program, in which students in elementary school classes are paired up with a senior pen pal. They'll send things such as letters and arts & crafts back and forth. I'd be the connection from the school side, whereas other FCSS staff will handle things from the Senior side

Amber Dukart
01:17:11
I appreciate you bringing that forward Sabrina, we can’t forget our seniors living in the community!
Sabrina Ball
01:17:44
Absolutely. The struggle is to find ways to connect with them if they are not currently involved with FCSS, AHS, etc.
Amber Dukart
01:20:08
totally Sabrina. It is a bit easier to connect with folks who are receiving home support but there are so many others who aren’t connected to those. I wonder if it would be beneficial to work with community orgs, cultural centres, or religious centres who may know seniors who are living independently in the community
Hiu Ling Wong

Since most of us have or want to set up a program, we already know the reasons for and purpose. Do we need to spend so much time on this?
